Actually if you look close it does have pointy bits... They are smaller since the ship is bigger eh. I would not doubt that it is leaked, sad that it is leaked in such a crappy manner if it is, cause I imagine it looks great in Trinity, where it looks like crap in that render with no textures, no shaders and no smoothing groups.

Why the limitations? It sounds like a poor idea already.
The "teams of five to 40" was written by the Massively reporter. Coming from an environment where "group" means a fixed size of 5, 10, 25 or 40 players, the reporter apparently misinterpreted CCP's statement of "small or large groups" to mean "party or raid instances." That's what you get for playing fantasy MMOs for too long.
What are the limitations on group sizes in EVE Online? Only an upper bound on fleet sizes determined by the leadership skills of the Fleet Commander, Wing Commanders and Squadron Commanders. There's nothing imposing a limit on how many ships can be in a fight, beyond the limitations of the EVE software running on the current hardware.

What on earth makes you think this has anything to do with low sec?
Cause they said so at Fanfest. But, Eve being what it is, a "pick up game" with strangers in low sec is a recipe for unused content. We'll see.

I highly doubt you are going to get a BPC for a mothership in a highsec encounter.. People that want them and can fly them are restricted to lowsec and 0.0 so this is where you will find them.

your going to be trying to blow up a Super cap ship
In Empire
Without Dreadnaughts I suspect that were going to see 2k+ in thoes systems and half of the ships will be cruisers or lighter.

Somehow I doubt that even the Sansha are crazy enough to lock onto the Veildnaught.

you don't need dreads or 2k pilots to take down a super cap especially one that can't log off

well if its a mothership (as in actualy a mother ship and not a missnames super carrier) Its probably going to have more EHP than a titan.
but who knows at this point.

Well if npc carriers are any indication, it shouldn't actually be all that tough. Yes, there are npc carriers. They exist in lvl5 missions. They have about the same EHP as an unfit player carrier but in typical npc fashion, they feature either a civilian armor rep or a civilian shield booster with a single t1 invuln/EANM. So they're actually pretty squishy all things considered.
I expect this new npc mothership/SC to be exactly the same. It might be a supercap, but it's going to have only the base EHP and no active tank. It will also just sit there and not actually do anything. Shooting it will probably spawn additional waves but that's about it. Still, I look forward to blasting that thing and snatching up a shiny bpc. Given that I and my entire corp live in amarr low sec, one of those is bound to show up on our door step in no time assuming they spawn in low sec.
Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

1) The ship you now refer to as "Super Carrier" was originally called a Mothership, so their wording was fine.

My guess is that it is gonna be quite hard and if you arent in a well organized group you get Sansha dead quickly. There is already very difficult group PVE in EVE, Sleepers. Now imagine the Sansha mother ship being kept alive by remote reps or some extra Nightmares warping in the moment some new players arrive on the battlefield.

Actualy the reason for this is that PL are bored with hotdropping lone bs in lo-sec with SC fleets.
Geting this implemented means they will now be able to drop their SC fleets onto disorganised fleets of noobs entering lo-sec , and of course any `mothership` bpc will goto PL .
Have to keep their SC fleet busy , as its being boosted by the defunct CH Supercaps ( also known for dropping SC fleets on solo/small sub cap fleets in lo-sec)
I gues this is what mazz was campaigning for when she held herself up as the voice of lo-sec when campaigning for a seat on the CSM ( irony is she has never spent any time in lo-sec and displayed a clear lack of knowledge about lo-sec mechanics)

Originally by: Tar Ball Do you suppose, given that a mothership is a new class, and that it can hot drop supercaps, that these things are as big or bigger than titans? Will it cost like 80 bil to build one?
(Unsubstantiated) rumour has it that in addition to the normal building materials, one of the components needed will be players corpses (it is a Sansha ship after all). The more corpses supplied, the better the stats and bonuses for the ship.
(Guess this means the Goons will never build one, as it seems they prefer to eat the corpses.)

This is most likely false, you could farm alts all day to meet the requirements.
