Oh my God, now I truly believe the throne of EVE is in danger. That's how combat in EVE should have been designed all along!
The only concern derived from the video is they have multiple servers.

I doubt I'll be proven wrong.

Aside from both taking place in space, an instanced twitch shooter is a different genre from EVE.
It'd be like comparing Mount & Blade to WoW. Just doesn't work.

But starting a new game that no-one has ever played before is always nice, the opportunity to explore and find things out for yourself, not walking the 1,000 times throdden paths guided by dozens of game guides.
You can explore and find things out for yourself in EVE, just don't read the damn quides :)

I've looked it all up, and you get EVERYTHING eve has to offer, more ships, more custom options (you can even design your own pain job) and onto of that the platform for a first/third person walking mode in the works.
But personally the most attractive thing about it is that the fighting will actually require skills, not just clicking a fue putting and waiting for mathamatics to break your target!

Confirming that despite the fact that a more skilled PVPer will often beat a less skilled PVPer when flying evenly matched ships, there's no skill involved in PVP.

I was in the first wave of beta testers, tbh, it's terribly lacking content, any sort of meaningful pvp, client stability is horrendous and the customisation is pretty shallow.
Granted I havent played it for a while and when I did there was about 10 guys on at a time, might have changed since but servers are offline atm so I cant go check :\
TLDR: Shiney but ultimately boring.

àexcluding the whole "single universe" thing, which is the foundation for everything EVE has to offer. So, in effect, it doesn't have anything EVE offers, and, if that video is anything to go by, what it does offer is horribly shallow and simplistic.
Quote: But personally the most attractive thing about it is that the fighting will actually require skills, not just clicking a fue putting and waiting for mathamatics to break your target!
àexcept, of course, that if you let the maths break the target in EVE, the skill of that target will quite easily break your maths. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

They hadn't added the clan stuff yet, but its not going to ave the depth eve has.
Also like some ones already said its not even the same type of game as eve.
Perfect if you just want to jump on-line and go some instants pvp or pve, where twitch skill is a must.

It also lacks any long-term character development, seems to be just a quick log on and pew pew game. Fine for awhile but will probably get old quick.
Plus the screen shots I saw are not that impressive.
So I'll pass on that game even if it is free. But they must make their money from something, so is it advertising or just the old micro-transactions.

Information (as defined in physics) can neither be created nor destroyed, only transformed from one state to another.
To elaborate, EVE in its current recognizable state has a future. Black Prophecy does not, in that its state will soon progress to offline servers, deleted information, 404-ing websites and nothing left but memories.

Joe, please go play BP and stop posting on the EVE forums. Your kicking against EVE is childish, especially from the perspective of such a more casual game as BP, it think it will suit YOU a lot better than eve indeed.
What would the BP community think of someone who crashes their forum saying 'guys its all been done better 5 years ago, go play eve!'
Indeed, a child.
You asking for things that EVE has which is 'better' than BP? I call troll but i'll bite this far: Its a looong list matey, a looong list.
Just give someone your stuff and go away.

I don't think people realize 99% of MMOs being released in the last 3 or 4 years are either vaporware or are horribly disapointing and ultimately flops.
The market is over saturated with crap, and really there isn't any excitement with new MMOs anymore. People just roll their eyes and go back to playing whatever they've invested the most time in over the last 6 or 7 years after their brief 3 month stint in whatever crap is new.
