Yeah, I do:
C&C C&C: Red Alert C&C: Tiberian Sun Starcraft
Used to play those, I wish I could find my TS CD again.

Total Annihlation.
Oldie but a goodie, even if only for the sheer carnage on the screen. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Total Annihilation. Dawn of war Earth 2140 (not sure about the exact name), for it's modular units, very fun.
Starcraft and War3 are IMHO more rush games than strategy games.

Ground Control was one of my favourite RTS games but I have totally lost interest in them.

Actually Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth is quite good and the most recent RTS game AFAIK. :)
Age of Empires is also decent.

Edited by: hired goon on 05/01/2005 11:19:49 Where as most strategy games nowadays seem to copy the Warcraft 2 formula, Total Annihilation still hasn't been bested even today. Get it, then download the community expansion that adds another 250 units for a total of 500. Then get the unit-limit c.r.a.c.k that changes the limit from 200 to 2000 (or whatever number you type in).
Then realize this is the only strategy game where a nuke is a NUKE, and not a tiny bomb that damages buildings a bit.
edit: the language filter is a bucking fitch. ------------

Well, I can offer up a few that still capture my interest as well as still reside on my hard drive, and get plenty of play.
Total War trilogy: Shogun, Medeval and viking expansion, Rome
American Conquest and its expansion Fight Back!
Empire Earth and the follow-on Empires: Dawn of the modern world
Homeworld, Homeworld Cataclysm, Homeworld 2
A very nice strategy game thats not well known but very enjoyable: Praetorians
Rise of Nations and its expansion Thrones and Patriots
Stronghold- A castle building and siege type RTS pretty in depth play, lots of micromanaging
Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns
And one I feel like is a very unpolished game but for some reason is addicting: Warrior Kings and its follow on Warrior Kings: Battles
Those are just a few that I go and play from time to time.

I really liked Kohan : Immortal Sovereigns... it's a bit different... cities are in specific locations, units are controlled in groups, pretty fun over all... makes the gameplay simpler, while allowing the story to grow more. Recently picked up the quietly released Kohan II - Kings of War, and i am really enjoying it. Though the storyline seems to jump around a lot, as soon as you get used to playing a race, you end up with another to learn.

Dark reign.
Oldschool, aside from a earlier 486 i had with c&c, it was the first rts i sat down and realy played.
Modern touch, then i just love age of empires. ------------------------

Soldiers: Heros of World War 2
its pretty good, its got a nice twist compared to other RTS games
its kinda like a C&C generals (better graphics) mixed with Commandos (not as hard) without the big base building and <insert best unit here> rushes.
Also most of the games mentioned in the above posts are worth taking a look at! depends on your tastes, i love WW2 and Sci fi but cant stand cavalry, archers and other olde times stuff ^.^ ohh and im not to keen on wood elfes and orcs.

Homeworld -I remember those long epic games, in teams was a lot of fun.
Ground Control -was cool when you could jump right into combat without waiting till a game is over. RTS Deathmatch, was pretty fun.

As a old school RTSer from the days of the original C&C and outpost, i must say, the top games on my list are
Total Anniahlation Rome Total War Homeworld 1 or two Metal Fatuige
if you can stand the bad graphics on some of those games, they are just plain old awesome.
