while going through a standard Serpentis deadspace 3/10 complex (the one in Aydoteax) I got to the third level and destroyed everything except a "circulation accelerator" which was this big, hollow, cylinder.
I was able to rip through the shields but sat there firing all kinds of heavy missles and every type of ammo I had (in 250 M rails and a single 150s rail) and it maybe got down to 98% even after about 500 missles and all my ammo which was thousands of rounds..
There is another accelerator gate and that was the only place the key could have been located..
Anyone ran across one of these and figured out how to destroy it? Would I need an entire fleet in there or something?

I have the same problem. There should be a "headmaster" that has the key but I dont think he spawns :S.

Ahh.. I found a screencap I took:

It is the "Impurity Circulation Accelerator" I didn't take a close up of that exact stucture.
In case devs are looking at this, you cannot destroy this structure.. I blew up *everything* else in this level and spent about 45 minutes hammering on this structure.

You just have to hang out there for hours to get the headmaster to spawn. He did spawn once for me.

Found a couple of those structures too.
Couldn't kill it with heavy missiles in BC and couldn't kill it with torps when i came back in BS, i can kill the shields and half the armor easily then it seems to turn invulnerable

You can destroy it but it has a ****load of HP. bring your corp and somem real firepower and bring it down. Never managed myself

when destroying complex structures, use the following weapons:
Smartbombs
Drones
Lasers
None of the above actually use ammo and so you can activate them and then walk away for half an hour.
Just remember not to use drones with smartbombs...
I recommend lasers and smartbombs. large lasers are very easy to hit structures at close range if fitted right. Naturally you should not have to waorry about smartbombs hitting.

Also remember about Eve! I lost my Gistii 1mn ab last night due to afk jumping and pesky 5k rats at the gate. It must of taken them an age to get through my shields/armor(only in a Crusader).
