All because Deviantart chose the finalists. CCP owns the game so they can very easily just ignore the choices Deviantart staff made and then create their own top 15. And I agree with everyone else in saying that the Tornado (http://browse.deviantart.com/contests/2010/eveonline/#/d30g6np) absolutely needs to be in the top 15. That LA battlecruiser for example is complete WTF, I could have drawn that (and im not an artist) and it already has the same shape as a gallente ship in the game. Obviously the people who judged this contest at Deviantart had no idea what Eveonline was about and chose the top15 nearly at complete randomness. The only entry in the top 15 that I wasn't surprised by was the Narukami and one other but i forget. But anyways, 90% of the top 15 shouldn't be there, or simply all of it. All in all this was a complete disaster. The LA Battlecruiser or w/e that thing is, it being in the top 15 instantly proves that the top 15 was a complete joke and Deviantart's top15 simply needs to be completely ignored and either CCP creates a new top15 or the fans do. God, a child could have chosen a better top 15. I really really hope CCP doesnt let this top15 become official Offical. and they take it back and make a new one. The good ships from real eve players need a better chance than to be judged by a pack of ignorant morons over at deviantart.

I followed the contest almost daily and was really excited to see so many teriffic designs being submitted for consideration. Frankly I'm disgusted by the lack of professionalism demonstrated by the deviantart judges in picking such lackluster and unpopular entries for the finalists. The popular submissions were popular for a reason, I like many others were genuinely excited over the possibility of playing them ingame. I hope CCP will listen to the player base and remedy this situation ASAP.

I feel sorry for those that spent hours designing something when it basically looks as though the 15 were selected by drawing random lots from a hat.

I hope that CCP will step in and do the right thing and pick their own designs or heck better still give the players of Eve a chance to vote on a ship since they have a vested interest in game unlike the untrained monkeys at DA.
