Some time ago the ghost training patch went through and skill training now stops when subscription runs out regardless of what might be in queue.
What then is the reason for maintaining the 24hr limit on queued skills?

Hirana ... I would have expected better from you.
just one example of the recent threads. (for more see linkage)
and seriously ... the relationship between allowing longer skill queues and ripping out ghost training is very limited.

Not sure why, but thanks I guess
Doesn't answer my query though, why keep the 24hr restriction?
Note that Ghost training was the ability to train without paying, but since training stops at the same time as the subscription runs out now there is a huge difference.
I can (and do) now play one account as "main" and have this as "alt" but rarely actually play with it - training continues unabated just with lots of unnecessary micro-management to change skills constantly due to the 24hr limit.

What's wrong with extending the 24 training queue? If the account doesn't train when inactive then it's not an exploit.

The purpose of the skill queue is for players to not have to alarm clock skill change or deviate from their skill plan by padding because of said alarm clock changes. It is not intended to make it easier to skill without logging in.

This!!
I do like getting my sleep now and not have to wake up at 2 am in the morning to skill change.
24h is fine

Yes, I am well aware of how the party line goes, but it still does not answer my question.
Why, with ghost training no longer possible, is there a restriction on what can be put in queue?
What, if any, is the reasoning?
Ref: Ghost training was removed late 2008 and queue was added late 2009.
