Hi i read many posts about ice mining but couldnt find one with an actual figure. Just looking for something to do while semi-afk playing other games/reading a book.
With a mackinaw and maxed skills, what's the approx isk/hr you will get ice mining by yourself (fill it up, run it to station, and repeat).
thanks

With perfect skills and a perfect Orca boosting, you can look forward to an amazing windfall of 4 - 4.5M ISK/hr depending on the ice.
If you do not need to fuel a POS, stick to mining rocks. -----------------------------------

even if you do have a POS you're better off mining ore (or hell, run lvl3 missions even), selling ore and buying POS fuel... mining ice is only good for macros and people who want to afk mine all day (in 30 minutes intervals)

This, leave the ice mining to the bots and buy it from them cheap if you ever need it.

It makes sense to ice min for your own POS in some locations if you have something else to do at the same time.
Wherever you went - Here you are.

Be aware that there are some who have decided to make it their life's work to blow up macro miners. Its very hard to tell the difference between a macro user and an AFK miner. I was in a system where this was happening. I would sometimes talk in local, to show I was not a macro user, and I still got put on a list of macro users, someone to gank. Fortunately my talking in local to the gankers got me off the list.
("Hey Gaia, why are you on our list as a macro user?" "I dont know. Maybe whoever checks miners out checked me out while I was AFK".)
I moved to a different system, and later switched back to rocks.
BTW I don't mind gankers blowing up macro users, I just do not like the idea of the macro users laughing all the way to the bank as they watch clueless gankers blow up legitimate miners.
