I count myself as a mission runner and done that for years now, but I welcome the changes as it adds much needed PvE contents to the game. Running the same old missions again and again gets tidious after a while and down right boring. Recently (I am damn slow, I know) I finally got around to running a few WHs with a few friends of mine and it was FUN. I expect these incursions to be the same and even challenging before someone "cracks" them and throw out tons of guides on how to handle them, much like you can find now for WHs and mission running in general. The incursions add some dynamic and a little inpredictability into otherwise static Empire space in Eve, something I at least welcome. Eve is one of the few (if not the only) MMPOG that continues to develop the original areas of the game, instead of just expanding the playing field which causes huge migrations and bottlenecks. Eve does have bottlenecks, but it is extremely easy to find areas just as good or even better, which I think is a great feature about Eve. Eve has been lacking proper fleet orientated PvE contents since the launch and the incursions is just what was needed. The competative reward system isnt something I agree totally with as I do not like elitism, but I can also see some merits in it. CCP has been pushing people towards PVP since the beginning butg this seems like a step in the opposite direction. The incursions will cause disruptions in a few systems, but move two systems over and you are back on track. As written above I suspect CCP to keep the Incursions out of the newbie areas and otherwise scale them according to security rating just as everything else is, making the new rats at gates and belts at least somewhat manageble. Also, like probable sites, I suspect they will have a timelimit so after a few days you can go back to your main system and get back to business as before. Since Concord isnt disabled during the incursions I cant see how pirating is encouraged. If pirates attack unprovoked in High Sec they will still be blown away. In Low Sec Pirates pray in the few and the weak, since during incursions people will always be in fleets pirates can really do anything other than continue to seek their normal targets elsewhere. I have been gate camped, Ninjaed-and-ganked, wardecced, station camped, nerfed and blown apart by both Condord and NPC military units and I STILL say, bring on the incursions! More diversity can ONLY be a good thing. --- I think violence in games only causes violence in real life if the person in question has an insufficient mental capacity to deal with the real world in the first place |
