I am gonna say this is a bug or maybe ccp doesn't play this game at all...
350m3 cargo hold for storing mining crystals... Really? 350m3 you can figure a set of 3 mining crystals for only 4 ore types with no room for spares. That might be fine for empire...
For a 0.0 fleet fit Hulk a 350m3 cargo hold for mining crystals is far short of what is required for 0.0 plex mining. Striping 0.0 plexes with belts that have 16 ore types. CCP has made using ALL Exhumers in 0.0 more difficult.
Hulks need a minimum of 1,125m3 Mackinaws need a minimum of 750m3 Skiff needs a minimum of 375m3 |

Not saying they should ever be solo... I run a small wing of these myself with Rorqual managing boosts and hauling.
Before you could store a full set of mining crystals and spares on board and still have enough space for a full cycle of ore. Post CCP changes the job is more difficult when you need to micro manage the minuscule cargo hold when you are mining out 0.0 grav sites.
Before: Right click strip miner > load new crystal
Now: Send alt to station or POS locate required required crystals warp to hulk unload unnecessary crystals from hulk to jet can swapping crystals from one ship to another in space via a jet can load new cryatals scoop unneeded crystals to the alts cargo hold send the alt back to POS or station with crystals unloading the hauler and heading back to move ore again.
If you run 2,3,4,5 hulks then the task is 2,4,8,16 times more time consuming and annoying
I never bother to read the blogs and visit the test server because CCP can change a ship 15 times between the first blog post and it hits tranquility. Their are dozens of people along the way that read these, visit the test server, and voice issues . i don't feel the need to do the legwork myself. |

You're to be expected to have your extra crystals sitting in an Orca or a mining-tender hauler, NOT sitting in your own hold. Welcome to the brave new world of actually having to be in actual mining fleets, not massive multi-boxed setups where you push one button occasionally and retarget every cycle. AND FIX THE F**KING CORP HANGAR BUG ARGH!!!!
the ore hold is a small benefit to what ends up being an increase in micro management required to mine in fleets. |
