This day marks the 6th Anniversary of the Ushra'Khan's founding. As the oldest surviving CONCORD-sanctioned Capsuleer alliance, we can take some pride in marking this milestone.
In truth, it has been a long, hard year. In the same year we achieved one of our greatest accomplishments, we very nearly saw it all unravel before our eyes. Our successes have been the source of much public debate, and yes, our troubles as well. The term 'bitter-sweet' simply does not cover it.
We almost did not make it to this point, a brutal act of corporate espionage saw our alliance plunged into a brief period of turmoil that opened the door to months of gruelling political fallout, and the reforming of the alliance under a new banner; the Damu'Khonde. There is no denying that this was a hard and painful time for us, a forced transition in the midst of a politically volatile region presented us with no end of adversity to overcome.
It is to the credit of every pilot with us today that we survived an event which has been the instant death of many an alliance in the past. It was the strength of conviction and sheer stubborn will of our pilots that pulled us through, even if that determination cost us considerably in a number of ways.
Our troubles throughout this period can with the benefit of hindsight be summarised or analysed at length, but the irony is that the hardship stemmed from success. The destruction of 'Amarrian Providence' came much more suddenly than anyone had anticipated. The attempted expansion of 'Holder' alliances into Catch provoked a response that re-wrote the balance of power and reshaped Providence entirely in a matter of mere months.
A coalition quickly formed with the power to strike a hammer blow to Providence. I am proud to say that we were a part of it, and that our pilots were there in force throughout the campaign, in many cases providing the bulk of the pilots supporting the staggering power unleashed by the super capital fleet spearheaded by our long time allies Against All Authorities. As Station was besieged after I-Hub & TCU were assaulted after Stargates were blockaded, our pilots repeatedly turned out in force to see the job done. It was the fulfilment of years of work, of assembling our forces and gathering allies.
The controversies began in the aftermath of that great campaign. With Amarrian Providence brought down, something had to be created in its place. That 'something' was the loose coalition of alliances gathered to re-settle the region, sometimes referred to as the 'fightclub' or more formally the 'Non-Invasion Pact' alliances. The concept was simple enough; each alliance was free to manage itself, conducting no sov-attacks upon its neighbours but all would band together to face an external threat. The system required trust and mutual understanding, commodities that proved to be in short supply.
Internal frictions were exacerbated by ambitious greed, with some alliances seeking greater power and control over the region. The pact alliances began to schism, subtly at first but increasingly rapidly following the Ushra'Khan's forced reforming. The Damu'Khonde inherited a worsening political climate combined with a contracting membership; with Amarrian influence ousted, some departed feeling their personal goals completed. It became rapidly apparent that maintaining a presence in Providence was no longer a necessity nor desirable to many of us. And so we left for the Great Wildlands.

Controversy it seems has been intent on shadowing us this year. Our hope for the Wildlands was to find a place where we could reconnect with our people, instead we have been confronted by Capsuleers with dubious intentions for the region. An alliance we had thought loyal to the Minmatar cause has instead made demands upon our freedoms, its pilots spout slaver rhetoric and brandish the Pax Amarria in taunt and members of its leadership harbour old grudges towards us from their days of trading in Amarrian Providence! What a disappointment this is. Our hopes for the Wildlands have been swiftly dashed, and we must again readdress our approach to the region in the days and weeks to come.
A long, hard year indeed. As ever for every step forward we take, another step on the long road ahead comes into view. We shall continue to move forwards, for the work is as yet undone and fresh challenges await. As the seventh year of our cause begins, we find ourselves not bound to any one place for long and free to move where we think our efforts best spent.
Sansha Kuvakei himself has returned from the grave, his mindless drones are on the rise. The CVA have re-secured a foothold in Providence, handed to them by Mercenaries in an act of spite. The so called 'Imperial Crusade' continues to threaten the borders of free space. The task before us remains formidable, but we yet live to face it. Despite all that has befallen us and no matter the jeering of self-interested critics, we go on.
We are the Ushra'Khan, we come for our people.

I do not speak in any official capacity for Ushra'Khan, as Ugleb does, but when I ask myself what separates the Ushra'Khan from lesser alliances and why it has remained for so long, the answer is clear.
Whereas we are bonded by a common cause - a purpose in the pursuit of freedom from the tyranny of slavers - others are driven by personal greed and aggrandisement.
Many months ago, the soft underbelly of CVA was revealed for all to see when they abandoned their own region without resistance, after the failed invasion of Catch. Many of their membership then fled, seeking reward in more comfortable pastures. And now this same ethically moribund troupe of oppressors return to swell the ranks of CVA as they are gifted fragments of their old space, like treats handed out to an obedient pet.
Ushra'Khan's numbers have similarly been trimmed but the core remains and an elite skirmish force is how we operate best. The weak have identified themselves and scattered, those motivated purely by violence and piracy had already dispersed - the loyal remain to rebuild.
Recently, new neighbours have sought to exploit the state of flux our alliance has be subjected to in an effort to impose their will. But they have underestimated us. We know how to respond to dictators and a new breed of Matari warriors will rise to overthrow the shackles of oppression once again. Great Wildlands will prove be the killing fields in which we litter the corpses of our enemies, and they will be the training grounds for the next generation of freedom fighters to hone their skills until we return to defeat CVA once again.
We continue, we rebuild, we grow stronger and we will never yield. And we still come for our people.

Oh, do get real! As you well know, we do not have to "go back to our Republic", because that's where we have always been.
And since you seem to have missed it, they put Shakor in charge some time ago and started a war - just like some people like you always screamed we should. We heard a lot of assurances during those times that if The Republic just did that, this or that person would sure fight for Her too.

On behalf of the Freecaptains of the Star Fraction, allow me to congratulate the fighters of the Ushra'Khan on their achievement in completing their sixth year as a registered capsuleer alliance, not only surviving as an entity but with their ideals and motivations intact and as strong as ever among them. This is an achievement because among we capsuleers of this early period in our development as a class of transhuman it is a rare thing indeed for alliances to survive for as many years and even rarer for such alliances to have remained true to their foundational principles. Few are those others who can truly claim it.
For the Freecaptains of the Star Fraction, the Ushra'Khan has always been an example of solidarity and freedom. True, we have not always seen eye to eye, particularly in the early years of our acquaintance, yet over the years we have, I think, learned to appreciate one another and understand the value of the diversity that each brings to the great family of freedom-lovers. For the Star Fraction there is no older, consistent ally than the Ushra'Khan and we salute them for their indefatigability and adherence to their central mission: the destruction of the scourge that is slavery and all who promote and profit from that evil.
We have always admired the universal nature of the Ushra'Khan's beliefs and the way in which they advance them. There is no crude racialism as with some other, highly extreme, Minmatar rebels and fighters. There is no uncriticial belief that the Minmatar Republic is the great hope for freedom for their people. Rather, the Ushra'Khan have long recognised that all must be free of slavery as the best guarantee of the freedom of their people. Rather, the Ushra'Khan have recognised when the Republic has impeded the cause of freedom, or even been actively hostile to it, and they have spoken out. This we admire and salute also.
With respect to recent history, we say that the the Ushra'Khan at all times acted in accordance with their fundamental principles and in the interests of their primary mission. Many have sought to criticise the fighters of the Ushra'Khan from the sidelines and without flying so much as an AU in the furtherance of such a great and noble cause as the Ushra'Khan struggle to realise. We view such criticisms with contempt.
Others have raised more or less constructive criticisms, from within and from splinter groups, and why not? No organisation is perfect and it is the mark of a coherent political movement that it can survive internal travail and the spinning off of fragments and splinters from its membership intact and, if anything, stronger in its core convictions. When the original movement remains true to its convictions while the fragments and splinters lose all political consistency and sense of their cause then the strength in renewal of the true believers is shown all the more.
Today, the Ushra'Khan is still the great freedom-fighting movement that inspired and continues to inspire freedom-lovers among the capsuleers and among the masses of the planetbound. History shows this and future history will bear it out. The Ushra'Khan richly deserve their celebration and it is with great pleasure that the Freecaptains of the Star Fraction sing out:

Whilst our paths diverged many years distant I recall the formation of Ushra'Khan from the combining of The Peoples Front of Minmatar and Oracle. Two fine organisations that began the struggle that the pilots of Ushra'Khan continue to fight.
6 years is a solid achievement in anyone's book. I raise a glass to you all and my regards to the pilots that may recall my name.
As for me, I remain of the view that the only good Amarrian is a dead Amarrian.
