thanks for the beta key. Installed latest client to Win 7 64bit, and had 18 pre-saved market price files, for EC that i uploaded ok, however the default folder that the client uses, is the one used for manually exporting prices - C:\Users\<username>\Documents\EVE\logs\Marketlogs.
For auto-price extraction, same as EM and Eve-MarketData Uploader by Kallahar, i think you may need to focus the client to this path instead, which will vary by the username and the drive path that EVE is installed on - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\<eve install drive/path>\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\252\CachedMethodCalls
p.s. many may have folders listed before 252, especially if you have had the game installed for several years, these can be deleted as 252 is the current and only folder required. ************************************************** Maker of the finest Scottish Warrior II drones with Active Peat Camouflage(tm) -- so dark, you won't see them coming!! |

Edited by: Bolavaz on 06/01/2011 01:29:42 Edited by: Bolavaz on 06/01/2011 01:28:29 Sorry for the delay in my response, and thank you for being patient. Unfortunately over the holiday break we were unable to complete all our modifications for the next upgrade release. We are now tentatively planning on releasing the next round of upgrades this coming weekend.
In the meantime I wanted to clarify the confusion regarding the Marketron client log location. By default the Marketron sets the log location to C:\Users\<username>\Documents\EVE\logs\Marketlogs
This file location has dual purposes. This directory is used by the EVE Online client to place manually exported market logs, when you click the ôexport to fileö button in the in-game market window. The same directory is also used by the Marketron to temporarily place the exported EVE cache market data files via the libevecache library. As a result the Marketron client will upload market data that was exported to file manually and via the eve cache library from this log location.
The issue with the Marketron client not being able to find the EVE Online cache location is due to the current method of identifying the cache file path. The EVE Online cache location has several dynamic components, so we read the EVE Online uninstall registry key to assist in the file path construct. On certain computers this method does not result in the correct cache file path. At first we were under the impression that this issue was isolated only to those individuals who have the EVE Online test client (SiSi) installed, but we have since identified other scenarios that cause a similar issue.
The EVE Online client version (i.e. 252) in the file path should not be an issue, because the Marketron client will always take the highest version number as the current cache location.
We are working this week to finish the fix for this EVE cache file path issue, and should be ready for release soon.
Thanks again for all the feedback.

thanks for the update Bolavaz, that path issue would explain why i only got 5 files uploaded today and 532 not uploaded due to errors as previously reported by others. i'll need to wait patiently for the next version of the client.

Edited by: Bolavaz on 10/01/2011 18:08:45 We have released a new Marketron Client upgrade, version 0.96c.
After extensive research into the various ways to automatically retrieve the EVE Cache folder location, we have come to the conclusion that there is no sure way to accomplish this while at the same time accommodating all the different installation scenarios. We have decided to go with a hybrid approach where the Marketron Client will attempt to identify the correct EVE Cache location, but still give you the ability to manually change it. The best of both worlds!
This new Marketron Client upgrade includes the following features
- Ability to minimize application to system tray and manage application from tray context menu
- Automatically saves and retrieves Marketron Client configuration settings from registry
- Fixed issue with empty market log files being reported as skipped. Now blank files will be removed instead
- User ability to specify EVE Cache folder location
You can download the new Marketron Client here.
Please be advised that you will need to manually uninstall the old client version before installing the new upgrade.
The next round of EVE Mesh website upgrades have been delayed due to a cross browser compatibility issue when we lock the market data gridÆs column headers while scrolling. We are working on resolving this bug and hope to have it deployed soon. Not ETA on this yet.

I uploaded exported files just fine, but I can't seem to get cache data to upload.
I verified the cache path is correct (on my machine:C:\Users\Xaarous\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE) I tried running elevated as well, no change. I verified that the cache is changing, e.g. a file in "C:\Users\Xaarous\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\d_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\252\CachedMethodCalls" is newer after browsing the market.
Here's the debug output: MARKETRON > Hello Xaarous > Processing EveCache Files... Please Wait, this will take a few moments. > Attempting to read EveCache files from... > C:\Users\Xaarous\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\ > EVE Cache location exists > Files Skipped: 0 > Files Processed: 0 > [ Transmission Begin ] > [ Transmission End ]

Xaarous,
Based on the debug text you posted looks like the Marketron Client did not find your eve cache location automatically which is why the file path was defaulted to the partial path of " C:\Users\Xaarous\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\".
I would suggest you click the browse button (...) to the right of the EVECache textbox and browse to the location you found: "C:\Users\Xaarous\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\d_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\252\CachedMethodCalls"
(or copy paste into the textbox)
This is how you can manually tell the Marketron Client where to find your eve cache files. Please try running the app with these changes and let me know how it goes.
P.S. The Log Location textbox is used for manual exported files, and temporary exported cache files.

That did it - thanks!
I thought it was searching recursively from that folder. When I specified all the way down to 252, it worked.

Glad to hear it works Xaarous. I can see now how that can be a bit confusing if it failed to find the path, but it pre-populated it for you with a partial. We will change it so it will leave the cache location empty if it fails to automatically find the directory path.

Showing a complete example path somewhere (perhaps just above or beneath that input) would help. Or like I said, if you can walk the tree from the partial you found...
An in game channel would be great. Sorry if it already exists and I missed that too!

Hi Devlynsands,
I have unlocked your account. Please try again to login to the site. As for the secured authentication, we are using an SSL to protect pages that require the transmission of sensitive information (i.e. username / password). I have inspected the http request during the login via Fiddler and am unable to see the credentials being passed to the server. Can you EVE Mail me some details as to how you came to the conclusion that you are able to see these credentials being passed to the server?
Thanks in advance

Edited by: Devlynsands on 13/01/2011 00:26:11 hmmm. I couldnt log in again but did a recover password for a renewed one which worked..
regarding the secure issue, the site is no longer throwing a warning up, Im trying to find the info it showed if I can it was something to do with RT or Rat something, rat hahaha funny coincidence if it was. had some number after it, I failed to write it down as I could reproduce it all the time when entering login info.
Now since you unlocked my account ( not sure if you had to do that did you anyway? ) it seems to of cleared off nagging me..
cheers.
P.s really really nice site btw, keep it up will be a winner..

That would indeed help to fill in the markets. I would (before EVE Metrics closed) have the uploader continually upload market data when I was idle for extended periods of time. I do the same now with EVE-MarketData.
As the tools with the EVE Mesh site appear to much more useful, I'd love to see an automatic "scanning and uploading" of market data with the uploader.
