I'm an ooooold player and when I started playing this game, we podded up hill, without jump bridges. Granted, in my day, we had engine trails and better cyno effects. However, we didn't have things like a "training queue" or "attribute remaps".
These changes suck for the following reasons:
1. I'm losing 72 imaginary points per hour that I actually can't train as I was smart on my last remap. I actually planned ahead and was smart about where I allocated my points and therefore my skill training speed for the skills I have plotted out for the rest of the year will remain unchanged. Since I maxed out the two attributes. As an ooooold player, this upsets me as I wanted to come here and complain, but I cant. Please fix this CCP, as a loyal and valued customer I want need something to cry about and I think this would provide for an awesome opportunity.
2. You're dumbing the game down and making it "carebear" online with this catering to the casuals (WHO SAW WHAT I DID THERE?!) of newbies. By making this game accessible to more, you're allowing for less intelligent people (unlike myself as I am superior and spent 5 whole months training ALL my learning skills to MAX TRAINING POWER), who now have what I didn't. This time was WASTED, and now that all that WASTED time getting learning to MAX POWER, I'll have to re allocate those points elsewhere and waste time... on a video game.
3. This only helps new players. I mean, considering my skills now take 30-60 days since I maxed everything else out, re-allocating 5 million SP while the newbies get to learn faster was unfair as I didn't have this when I started. CCP please develop a time machine to rectify this. Please stop all other projects and create a way for these issues to be retroactive for bitter vets as myself. THINK OF THE DIAPER WEARING BITTER VETS WILL YOU!?
4. This change hurts my wallet as I don't invest in industry. PLEASE FIX! So, these new players will be blowing up more ships, which creates market fluctuation. These will eventually drive the demand for ships up putting more isk in those dumb industrial people's pockets. Who cares about those people anyway?
I had more to complain about, but this rant I'm on right now has caused my arthritis to act up.
I'll let the other bitter vets chime in as I think I've said enough.

Dear Bittertrollvet,
Indeed. But you get at least 3 * Rank 1 lvl V 256k SP each and 2 * Rank 3 lvl V 768k SP each = 2,3 million SP free to distribute. So yes, after a little less than 4 years you're worse off.
If you trained the other learning skills to max too it's 5,4 million divided by 630k so then it's 8+ years.
And all the time you can already enjoy the skills you'd have trained later without the changes.

Honestly, if you think learning skills made eve advanced, complicated, or smart, and that by removing them it is 'dumbing the game down', then you are probably one of the people who would benefit from the dumbing down of this game.

Honestly, I realize that this thread is in fact a mockery of people complaining about Learning Skill Removal, and that it is smart, and that by removing them it is 'Helping the game', then you are probably one of the people who wouldn't mind not benefiting or loosing anything from the positive change to this game.

I dunno about this change... Sadly it will prolly dumb down the playerbase (and the game in general) even more.
Call me an old bitter vet, i don't care. Fact remains that i sucked it up and did the training. I always thought of the learningskills as a sort of buffer, it weeded out the impatient and childish players which impo was a good thing... ________________________________________________

The task of weeding out or better yet exploiting the weak and impatient should be left to the playerbase and not some makework game mechanic imho. Scams need willing suckers, industry corps need mules and fleets need willing cannon fodder after all.

That's fine for some (most) parts of the game, but if any of those ADD kids somehow find themselves mining, I bet they'll think their minerals are free and sell them below market value. -

While crying and whining enough will get CCP to change the game for you, the catch is it can't be in the favor of a bittervet. Just that minor change in your tactics, and you will be just a few hundred tear soaked threads from the game you desire!!

How does selling at under market value hurt the industry? If anything its a boon as your bill of materials will be cheaper so you can glean that extra bit of profit. Or you could just buy it up and put it right back on the market at its 'proper' value netting the difference. Eventually the guy selling at under market will wise up or get targeted and wardecced so the game takes care of itself in that regard. Eve needs more simpletons and sillyness imo. Remember its a sandbox so they are the ones providing us with content to play against after all.

They can always buy up the underpriced stock and resell it. Most smart miners tend to collect isk as they never lose any ships and should always have enough isk to buy out a random lowball sell order. I mean what else do you have to do when mining than scan the market for deals? And you can fap to furry pron with the other hand so thats not going to be a valid counter argument.

Edited by: MotherMoon on 25/11/2010 21:12:18 I've been around 5 years and people have always said that eve was carebear online for some change or another. but then carebears would complain about the game being too hard still a month later and everyone would forgot that they thought eve was for carebears again until the next expansion.
