Say when you docked. You can spread around the SP you currently got to wherever you want. be it to be able to fly and buy that ship at your local ship dealer, or to go against that blob in your newly speced for pvp skill points. Whatever your heart desires <3
what would happen to this game?

Why not save the hassle of moving all the skill points, and just let us fly anything anyway?

Well, you should have to earn that SP somhow... be it waiting for it in terms of skill training, or im not opposed to being able to grind for it, in terms of killing things. Whatever your heart desires <3

At the moment, if you train for minmatar cruisers III, you can fly all minmatar cruisers...you are suggesting that you could just then use those skill points to fly all caldari cruisers.....but this would be the equivalent of removing the racial cruisers, and just having 'Cruisers'. Which I really don't like tbh.

They wouldnt be flags, theyd be some sort of unit, that would cost a hefty price in the 10's of millions and would expire in a short month. It would activate an antilocking force field newly developed and created by Concord themselves, under political pressure and threat of abandoning public corps and the loss of tax revenue that would follow, they released the unit to the market.
But.. there is a anti lock pvp unit deactivation module if you can get close enough there is a hack that might let you deactivate that forcefield unbeknownst to the pilot. Im not familiar with pirate technology but Whatever your heart desires <3

So in other words, you simply want number of SP = character level. Choosing to specialise in a profession will have no meaning any more.
And you think this will make the game better how, exactly?
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

I have thought about something similiar, kind of like a neural remap, but a one time skill remap only. I started this game with the intent to mine and build stuff, but now I wish I had that training time back to invest in something a little more useful. That's the thing about this game, its very easy to invest in skills that turn out to be a mistake in training in the long run. It would be nice to be able to take those skill points and put them somewhere that is more useful, instead of having them just sit there. But a continuous revolving door with skill points? No. One time skill remap is fine with me, but that's it.

Attributes would no longer exist; skill training would have nothing to do with skills and instead be "SP growth"; and this SP growth would become pointless after maybe 2 years. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Grow some balls...clever. How's that working out for you?
One could say that we should have never gotten a neural remap option if this game was so sorely dependent on causality. So why did we? Because, people make mistakes making characters sometimes, and wish they could go back and fix things when they figure the mechanics of the game out as they progress. At least I put a limit on such a remap, making it a bit more feasible. The idea has merit, even if it never is utilized.
And EvE hasn't been EvE for a very long time, in case you hadn't noticed. Perhaps you can't see for the huge d-bag over your head, obscuring your vision. At least I can always count on morons flaming ideas instead of trying intelligent discourse.

I would like to trade the SP from skills I don't use and put it elsewhere, or just the option to delete them permently would be nice at the least.

Well, I won't impose, but they're pretty huge.

I got it at nearly equal values after it was possible to remove that freaking high charisma. But I would have kept living with it. Can't be bothered to min-max anyways.

Ok, hows that for discourse.. you can convert skillpoints from one skill to another with a wastage of 50% ? So for example.. if you got 5M in industry and rather want to have them in gunnery from now on.. go for it. You get 2.5M to place where you see fit. 1) I meant your cleverness. 2) See? A remap could be a useful thing, not a punishment for noob mistakes. Thus, the ONE-time skill remap to help those who had no real clue on what to train or training things that were thought to be helpful but turned out to be not so much. I'm all for cause and effect, but sometimes you gotta help your player base. 3) That's better. A 50% could be a useful limiter indeed. If something like this were to be implemented, then that bridge could be crossed when we all got there.

I could see this happening, if the conversion had a cost associated with it. That is, you move 100k you lose 20k forever (or something like that). Then it would be an SP sink!
If there were no cost, then it would just be silly.

Well I can't say I wouldn't love to move the skill points I have in "exhumers" to something else even if the conversion rate was like 50%. Seriously though, mining sucks. Never do it.
On the other hand I think remappable sp is a stupid idea and I'd rather retain the useless capacity to mine than ruin the whole skill point system.

Horrid idea. Why? Look:
SP Farming.
You send the SP from training multiplier 1 and 3 skills off into other skills. This is easy, easy SP:
5-6 Days; 256,000 SP (from a x1) 11-13 Days; 512,000 SP (from a x3)
So, you waste off that cheap and easy SP, and then retrain those same skills, essentially farming.

He does. The way you describe it, you're assuming that SP accrue faster if you train lower-rank skills, and that training these particular skills makes the SP "easy easy" and "cheap".
The reality is: you don't. SP accumulate at a fixed rate that depends on the skill's corresponding attributes. It doesn't matter if it's a rank 1 or rank 5 or rank 16 skill ù as long as the attribute combination is the same, you gain SP at the same speed.

1) Atributes become useless as you can always train at max remapped speed; 2) hence: no more people who have picked wrong repmaps; 3) hence: people who like to try other professions - or find out they trained something not very exciting profitable, like mining - are free to remap and do them;
4) You don't need so much SP to fly all possible ships as you do now. Once you have enough SP to fly a T2 fitted titan, you can basically fly everything.

Re-mappable skill points?
Er...NO!
But I would like to have the ability to remove SP if I want to. No refund. Just get rid of them as I wish.
The reason is that most of my characters are pretty old. And the older characters started with 800K SP, often in areas not wanted. So I have these nice all L5 PVP/PVE characters with a few weird mining or indie skills that I don't want and make my skill sheet look funny. Same I have have mining characters with skills in gunnery and missiles.
Just give me the option to delete SP if I wish, is all I ask.
I've actually petitioned to have SP removed and been told no.
