Even I'm not sure, and I was one of the judges...frankly, it was difficult to tell what were real tears and what tears another judge had sent in. But rest assured...there will be tears come February 2011. And now that I have a Minmatar alt I can participate to a much higher degree than before.

*facepaw* What's the fun in beating up helpless miners? Maybe one of the hundred would be able to fight back, at best. No challenge, no adrenaline, just another boring chore. Seems I'd never understand the point of it. Cleaning up macrominers? Meh. True macrominers will just shrug and use new hulks, they already got plenty in hangars waiting for this exact occasion; by the way, covetors are much more efficient in terms of income compared to the price of a ship and fitting. The only ones who'll suffer are the independant miners, for whom their Hulk is 30% of all the assets, if not more.

Floyd Alliance will be sponsoring a prize of a set of pre-fit suicide dessies and battleships again. Exact composition and prize criteria to be determined, but most likely something along the lines of "First to reach X Exhumer kills".
Thank you Helicity for bringing my favorite player driven event back!

What profit? What explosions? lv3 mission will give you much more both in the same amount of time.
So it's basically griefing, as I've gathered.

But the tears are severely lacking, unless you're the ninja salvager

15 mins doing a level 3 mission: maybe 5 mil ISK. 15 mins in a belt with smartbombs and a salvager: 50-300 mil ISK depending on luck.
Also, I can't do lv3 missions

You only play EVE for 15 minutes? That's weird, some people have spent years playing this game.
How many times can you suicide a Hulk before your sec.status is too low to do it again? Recycling characters for something like this is, after all, an exploit...

You're forgetting the costs - both in ISK and time to clean up your SS, for the latter. That's why hulkageddon is not permanently in effect, I think - because major griefers need to accumulate a certain amount of ships and isks for another killing spree first.
Originally by: dtyk Also, I can't do lv3 missions
Then do lv4. You'll improve the standings, as well, instead of losing them and spending days after days to return them to normal.
Originally by: Juan Sezole The tears, they taste sooooo sweet .. and are low fat low carb!!
So it's all about griefing, after all. *sighs* I wonder why all the things stupid, inconsiderate and just plainly indecent in other MMOs are so strongly encouraged and supported in eve.

No matter how low your sec gets, you can still suicide hulks. It's not really an issue.

I think it's about entering the hisec, 'cause miners in lowsec and 0.0 are too well-protected to be of any fun to a griefer.
But well, sirs and ladies from hulks, why not use Concord for your defense? Step 1: create an alternative account Step 2: fly it to the mining area Step 3: switch to your main account, drop a jet with 1 Veldspar inside Step 4: attack that jet from alternative account Step 5: dig up any amount of rocks for the following 15 minutes Step 6: repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 until account is no longer usable. Step 7: repeat steps 1 though 6. Rinse, repeat, enjoy. Nevertheless, even with these precautions, some protection is in order to survive the alpha.
