I honestly have no idea where to put this, so I decided to put it (for now) in EGD. It doesn't really belong in Features and Ideas Discussion, for two reasons : it's not exactly a set of suggestions but more of a collection of multiple personal annoyances, and then FID is kind of like an elephant graveyard... and it doesn't exactly belong in the Assembly Hall either, because it's more of a brainstorm thing than a "let's do this specific stuff".
SO, WHAT IS THE "THOUSAND PAPERCUTS" PROJECT ?
It's an attempt to gather intel a lot of really small things that you put up with easily for some reason (usually because you got used to it after a while, short or long), but it still kind of bothers you to some tiny (or not so tiny) degree. Each and every one of those things might not even really be annoying in itself (and at least for some, changing them might probably NOT be really worth CCP's time, to be honest), but there might be so many that they end up giving you an overall feeling of discomfort, or stress, or whatever you'd like to call it.
WHAT DO I WANT FROM YOU ?
If you have one such minor inconvenience, whenever you encounter it, please describe it in here. THE SMALLER THE INCONVENIENCE, THE BETTER. You know, the small things... those you'd feel embarrassed to file a bug report for since they're so insignificant, or even never really bother to start a thread about it for fear of being laughed at for being too whiny about something most people don't even consider that much of an inconvenience. Things like: * "I wish the use/trash options on the menu would have more distance between them" * "I'd love if the timer for switching between ships was shorter than 30 seconds" * "I hate that nebula background images are so low resolution, I see nasty colorbands and blocks on my monitor at high resolutions" * "I don't like waiting 5-10 minutes for the remote asset list to reload" * "I'd like it if when I create a fleet I'd be made squad commander by default" * "I want more font options" * "It would be great if I could select a default showinfo tab" * "The blinking of the character sheet icon after claiming certificates annoys me, why do I have to open it again for it to stop blinking, I was just there" * "The <location> turret position on the <shipname> model annoys me because <reason>" * "Why do I have to stop training a skill when I clonejump, can't it pause and resume automatically?" ...and so on and so forth.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS ?
Well, there are several. First off, maybe that minor annoyance you always had has some way to be sidestepped that somebody else found but you weren't aware of (hey, weirder things have happened). Second, some of those things might be trivial to fix/change, and merely the fact they're brought forth will trigger their fix/change (kind of wishful thinking, but you never know). Finally, after enough of these minor annoyances are collected, hopefully the most commonly perceived as annoying ones that so far were deemed not worth the time will hopefully get some attention from CCP when they're brought up as individual items.

The map loading software is quite inefficient. If you use any form of tiles or other sov data, the map takes approximately 2 minutes to load on my connection.
Why not cache the entire map, and use the cached one while downloading the updated one?

Why can I not log out of my account directly back to the character selection screen?
Related: Why, when I tell one of my alts to train something when my main is training, am I forced to log on to my main, pause his training, and then log back on to my alt to start his training. Why can I not simply issue a "pause other characters training" command from the alt?

*I'd like to be able to resize the science & industry window to be even smaller. (Planet view) *I'd like to be able to drag items from market to chat to autolink it. *When the sun grows smaller as your ship obscures it, you can still see a tiny bit of light going through your ship *I don't like it how missiles fly through a ship, and directly into its centre, then explode *I don't like it how the explosions of missiles don't shape themselves according to where they hit *I don't like missile stacks. Make them all come out with shotgun-like spread, then start seeking. *I don't like it how missiles rubber-band-zig-zag a bit before hitting (There's a lot of things I don't like about missiles :D) *I'd prefer it if energy neuts effects worked like a giant, bright zap, then nothing until the cycle repeats *I liked the older acceleration gates which shot tractor-beam like things at you. They still functioned exactly the same. *Warp needs to accelerate and decelerate much, much, much faster. Or at least graphically appear that way. There also needs to be a flash of light/something flashy. *If I (shudder) do a courier mission and click undock without what I'm supposed to deliver in cargo, please warn me. *I dislike how the fixed weapons on drones often shoot projectiles sideways through thr front-facing gun while orbiting. *Large blasters should sound louder

Because this is intended for small things, even below the "low priority" items on his list. It's either issues so small they don't even deserve a topic of their own, or issues not quite so small but which would obviously not (yet) be worth the attention of CCP, maybe even issues that just can't be fixed with the current system in place as is and a whole new system would have to be devised for them to even become worth bothering with (like, for instance, with stackable damaged crystals, where the inventory system itself does not support something like that). Basically, stuff that shouldn't really be in AH, or not yet anyway. If some of the issues in this list are ever to be brought up in Assembly Hall, it will be quite a while until then.

Why? CTRL+click is working perfect and it also freezes the overview from updating so things don't jump around while making the selections.

* Existence of T2 BPO's * Fixed window - want to move it (some hotkey + mouse preferably) * Have to quit EVE for logging into alt on same account * Session change timer of 30 sec is too long most of the time or too short under heavy lag * Starlight color, red stars should have red light - no ? * Planetary interaction click amount (fixed soon tho I hear) * POS'es and most things associated with them. For example inability after all those years to use one from personal hangar. Still not possible to copy cross corporation. * Corp management and 'all or nothing' access matrices. If you can install jobs you can also cancel them for example. * Bookmarks and alts - have to bookmark stuff with each one of them. Want ability to export them like overview settings at least or some other form of sharing bookmarks between all characters. * When you import overview the appearance is not imported/exported, so you have to set up that manually for every character if you want to maintain consistency. * EVE client does not play nice with multiple gfx cards running multiple monitors. Have to have separate EVE installations for every monitor for best performance. * Inability to use PLEX for activating account that has ran out of sub (have to do 1 day petition or use 2x PLEX) * Science and Industry interface - it's better than it used to be but still kinda crappy in general in my opinion, lot of clicking, unintuitive and so on.

On this note, please make double (or perhaps triple)-clicking a locked target icon unlock it.
Also, for when I am trying to get the circle-menu on a moving item, please allow me to hold down the mouse button and then drag the mouse over an object in space to open the circle-menu. This saves me from having to click like a madman to hit what I'm going for.

I did also consider pointing out ctrl-a on his first request, but I think we should make a policy in this thread of not critisizing others complaints unless they are blatantly flawed.
For all we know, mr bluescreens ctrl-key is buggered.

- When you use blasters on a moros and look directly into the barrel of the blaster, you see the inside of the ship model.
- When you got the sun blocked by a far away moon/planet, it tends to give an effect similar to a strobe lamp
- The jukebox tends to lose its playlists once in a while.
- When you got a pos tower online and all the modules anchored, you can't just click 'online all' and it'd automatically online one module after another, but you have to actually be there and do it manually.
- Gates/POSes often tend to be big blobs of light instead of structures. Especially poses.
- Blasters tend to sound really poorly, rail guns make far more deadly sounds
- MWD and AB use the same amount of energy no matter how fast you'r going. I'd like to be able to adjust the power, since sometimes half the MWD power would be enough - I'd like it to take less power in such a case.
- There are no drone damage notifications.
- Drone models have turrets, but they don't point them at the enemy, just orbit and shoot from inside of them, makes FRAPSing a nice movie while using a drone as primary target for watching impossible to make it look good.

#1 'Show info' on drones has misleading damage Each T1 Light drone for instance will show that it does 15 points of damage; however veteran players know that drones do different amounts of damage. Why? because of the "Damage Modifier" which ranges from 1.15x to 1.6x Damage displayed should be the product between "Damage Modifier" and "Damage"
#2 'Show info' is showing useless values For instance, it shows 4 types of Sensor Strength for Drones. Drones cannot be ECM'd, therefore there is no need to show the sensor strength. Other irrelevant stuff: Capacitor Capacity and Recharge Time for drones Max locked targets for drones Cargo Capacity for drones
#3 'Show info' rows not in a logical sequence For instance, drones: Damage done is at the bottom Damage Modifier is at the middle Rate of fire is somewhere above Damage Modifier These 3 rows should be grouped together Shield and Structure info is not grouped together
#4 'Show info' inconsistent behaviour for "default values" Let's take the Cerberus: Has a drone bay of 0 - not shown Has structure resists of 0% - shown Please add a row that says "Drone Capacity 0 m3" to all ships that cannot carry drones

*Whenever I am doing the shift click thing in my hangar I can't deselect anything in the shift train... I would like to do so or make a checklist for the hangar so things can be a little more organized during selection. *Would like to buy add to cart option for market orders, perhaps with an option to create presets for ship fittings and such.(Everything that saves time in EVE is a must!) *Even though I don't mine much, I am annoyed that you can't selectively mine a particular mineral out of a roid instead of mining all the crap I don't want. *Its hard to create a corp/alliance only market without contracts, perhaps make a red/blue system for the market so I can trade with those people I prefer to while still using the market window (Imagine most of EVE choosing to not trade to some of the major alliances in the game, oh the tears )

Not being able to shift+click install multiple manufacturing / invention jobs of the same type (more clicking then PI).
Be nice if sell orders of the person placing were a different color for distinction once on market.
