After having viewed this video, it seems ot be like it's a Spectre Frigate at an angle either facing towards or away from the camera so that the elongated part of the hull doesn't appear to be super long but still makes the 'point' on the cone.

On TQ, it does not, however, that effect occurs with about the same frequency. Crazy doesn't even start to cover it

Can you get a top down picture of it or just one that differentiates it from the Machariel? Crazy doesn't even start to cover it

The fact you can't see them right now may have something to do with retexturing of Sansha ships in Incursion (they might even be there but you can't see it, since volumetric shadows are not on Tranquility yet). Anyways, i'm pretty sure there was a similar effect on Singularity in addition to docking/undocking cruisers, so i doubt it's a bug. It does look a bit like one of the Jovian frigates at an odd angle. I'm not completely sure that's what it actually is, but the login screen alone really isn't enough to tell wtf that thing is supposed to be anyway.

It is SOP for the Jove to pay close attention to (spy on) their subjects. This seems especially likely for Sansha in Jove space as the major empires.
