But i think a far better way to do this...would be to give them slots, and make them usable...They would still be 1 run collection items ,and I can find no wrong in having more variety in the ships we see flying in new eden. I think many players expect a fully loaded Mercedes from CCP for Christmas instead of a SMART car. Greedy. The thing is, it's a limited production free ship. If it were fully loaded Mercedes you'd likely /emorage when you went out and lost it and it couldn't be replaced. It's a collectors item. It says "I was here for Christmas 2010". It doesn't have to do anything as far as I'm concerned. Maybe next year though they'll consider bonus SP since it seems people can't appreciate the thought and effort put into creating a ship for them.

Limited ship or not some ppl want to be able to actually use the ship for something. In this case you find a can in your cruiser (after major Sansha battle), warp back to station, get in Echelon, warp back to can (if it's still there) decode/hack pick up contents and warp back to station to get your cruiser. In the process you hope not to get shot at due to the unique nature of the ship, the paper thin hull structure and minimum resists. I still have snowball launcher w/ (now) melted snowball ammo in my hangar. I don't want to toss it even though it just takes up space and clutters things up in my bay.

I've wondered why CCP didn't do a 99.9999% decrease in fitting requirements for CPU/grid on a specific type of module (then put 1 CPU and 1 Grid on the ship) rather than create a new module specific to the ship for this and the scanning ship. Don't get me wrong, I did use those scanning ships a bit and they were kinda nice. This signature is useless, but it is red.

But since most secure containers (hacking required to open) spawn rats, and with only the one mid slot for the specific hacking module, this ship is literally useless. You will never be able to use it for its intended purpose. Even with a sizeable escort, the rats still spawn right on top of you. With frigate hp and destroyer sig, they will have you breathing vacuum as soon as they open fire. Here's hoping for a useful production version in the near future! Think of it like getting one of those fancy collectible knives from your grandfather. Yes it has a blade but it's not very sharp and if you loose it you can't just go to walmart and get an other. If they want to add a usable ship they will in a patch or something. And remember, we are getting one or two player designed ships soon.
