I prefer T2 and cap injector. It's not that I need to use the injector that often, but it's nice to have just as extra safety net. Increases to peak tank quite considerably over the usual '2x small deadspace booster' that are used in some permatanks and lower the total cost of fitted modules by large enough margin to make suicide gank uneconomic for this particular ship, if hardeners are active.
I would suggest dropping the extra isk you free that way into proper set of 5% hardwires.

I prefer Mega Pulse II.

MPII's are better for missions, with Scorch and a tracking enhancer you will have just over 50km range which is what most rats spawn within, there's only a very few missions where the range of tachyons will save you a bit of time...
Been using both for quite some time and I use MPII's way more than the tachs since most of the mission I get have rats (blood/sansha) 15-50km away from me, oh and you will have more cap and PG available if you use the MP's.

Originally by: Chainsaw Plankton and your point is? not like you can't fit an ab to a t2 fit nightmare, furthermore I'm not really even sure what the ab has to do with anything. okay, so they have the same completion times, neither has cap issues, and the faction tach one costs a bit more? like seriously what?
I guess my point is that if you know how to manage your triggers then you don't need the cap booster and can replace it with an afterburner if one is not already fitted or another tanking mod in the freed up slot if you don't want a burner. The faction tachs simply make it cap stable with all running which is nice for some missions. Now granted if you know how to manage your aggro then sure you can get away with t2 for a good portion of missions but as you get the same completion time with either set why not go for the cap stable one as faction guns are dirt cheap?

Every single point of damage /optimal, falloff.../ counts when pveing. And the more faction mods you fit on your pve ship, the juicier target for gankers you become. Consider that when fitting your nightmare.

If you are "managing triggers" the way you dont have to use your shield booster, you are doing it wrong. You want to have all rats agroed on you and approaching your multifrequency optimal. You DO NOT want to shoot them with gamma or xray since it means lower projected dps.
I said manage your triggers. Not **** around killing each spawn then triggering the next. If you know how to manage your triggers you only need to pulse the shield booster once in a while and having a cap stable fit means you get alot more regen between pulses. So again if you know how to manage your triggers then you will still complete a mission in the same amount of time as someone who just jumps in and aggros the whole room and turns on his cap booster to compensate for the increased incoming dps. But hey as long as the mission gets done in an acceptable time frame then use whatever fit you like best.

I want to see you doing that in sansha blockade.

Then you fit whatever you think is appropriate for the mission. You do refit your mission ship for certain missions yes?

It's you who is wrong, Pulses are much faster, but I guess ignorance is bliss - come back when you've actually tried and tested it yourself, I've been droning on level 4's for years and Pulses are definitely faster.
PS: List the missions where rats spawn over 55km - aka the range Mega-pulses are not effective.

Edited by: Lugalzagezi666 on 19/12/2010 16:07:11 Yes, but i always use t2 tachs and cap booster. So i have no "cap issues" and dont have to "manage triggers." Neither i have to fit another tank mod instead of cap booster because cap booster IS tank mod. Also for missions like score or massive attack - you dont even need shield booster in these missions, because nm can do them on its shield/cap buffer even with less cap efficient t2 guns.

My ignorance to statements like yours is based on 1,5+ year of running l4s with nightmare.

Well bully for you. Good thing eve is a sandbox where you can go different paths to achieve the same goal.
