I dont think you guys waste your time mining veldspar when you have ark 4 jumps away. Most of production is in Empire. Unless you guys mined some strategic reserves and planned ahead, I seriously doubt what you say has any bearing to this fact that most production is Empire based. I know this from firsthand knowledge. Try again.

Three words: NPC mining ops
At least in Venal, NPC mining ops were frequent enough to give a fairly good supply of Trir/Pye to build a few BS here and there. An 'average' NPC mining op gives up to 12 mil trit or 2.5 mil Pye and they are not that rare.
