I know Im probably going to get smack talk for this  This however was new to me, and may help out a few of the noobs....
This is a scam where they need a ISK deposit as they run security....Move your stuff for free to VFK-IV, and offer to help cyno you in.
Well obviously now, they steal your stuff and ambush you when you cyno in to VFK...

Its a Scam, and I fell for it.... Was just to desperate to get into a good PVP corp, and did not catch the warnings...
I deserved it and will get smack talk for it  .... But maybe this post can't help a few others avoid this fraud... Milovac was the Merch Industrial Recruiter

Goons have been running this scam forEVER, they even have it posted on their join up wiki, stating its a scam... i thought everyone knew about it..

It boggles my mind thinking of why you'd ever want to join Goonswarm-- but then I'm reminded of the caliber of players that are interested in joining falling for the stupidest and most obvious scams in Eve and it all makes soo much sense...

Yep, I was waiting for that.... But honestly, Been Mostly in FW... Most 0.0 corps ever enter the equation.. Plus there is not one Corp out there that cant screw you somehow, if they really wanted to. Just as members frequently steal from corps. Trust and respect between the members, are all that can really hold a corp together.

Never trust a goon....fight them !!
And never jump to a cyno you do not totally and deeply trust.
And never be desperate to do anything in Eve, it's a weakness that you can't simply afford...patience is the key.
And never deposit isk nowhere but from your wallet.
And never trust a goon ....ops i wrote it already

Actually I did...Outside of a wikieve of them declaring war on their own recruitment corp some time back.... I could not find anything in regards to this type of scam posted... Thats why I said what the heck, I'll take the smack talk... And and make a post...
Sure its no fun posting this type of Epic fail...
It just made no sense to me why a Corp fighting wars...Would want to damage their recruiting drive. Especially since I was bringing in Capitals.
Better to lose some ships then to ever served with such insolent little children... Then to of spent one day flying with them and have your reputation forever tarnished...
Lesson learned.... I may of been nieve in trusting Milovac of Merch Industrial and Goonswarm. But I hope this post will at least come up on the searches, and damage their chances of getting new recruits...
In my opinion now, It will be a nice day when I see the VFK system Fall
I just hope I can be part of that day now

Sorry about you lose. Someone post this topic atleast once a week. Usually its the contract me your navy mega bit. Maybe you should spend more time on the forums and less time playing internet spaceships! I wish I would have known you were attempting to join the goons, I would have podded you on principle!
P.S.
For a 5bil retainer I will pod every known goon, with an additional 5bil due at completion.

It's right there in big letters.
Every other month someone makes a post about being scammed by goons like this, and the obvious thing is that the people that are going to get scammed don't read the forums.
Your warning will go unheaded as will the great big red letters in the wiki entry.
In consolation you can smile smugly to yourself when someone posts a similar topic in a months time, while saying, "ha noob, you didn't read my warning"

I personally can't believe there are people stupid enough to either a) pay someone to get considered for joining a corp, or b) put their personal stuff in a corp hangar.

It's pretty well scripted, the isk up front is called a security deposit, and you are asked to contract stuff to a jump freighter pilot who will move it to the staging location.
Serious post: The article I linked is a little out of date as Pandemic Legion now owns the alliance name Goonswarm (it was heinously stolen). It's where our waffles hang out. If you would like some small revenge and are looking to hone your pvp skills, then put in an app for Snigwaffe. They are active killing stuff in small gangs.
Goons can't fly under the name Goonswarm anymore, so there would be a little irony if you were to get in. Put in your app "I was scammed trying to join fake goons, now I want in on the real thing"

There will always be people like you, EG people who don't read the forums, can't be bothered researching, then when scammed, run here to "warn others", who already know, because they read the forums. /facepalm. |

My mistake was, I input Goonswarm, and not Goonswaffe.... It brought me straight to the Evelopedia and a ton of other post. That made no mention of the scam.... After that I am not an experienced Liar, like many of the Goonswarm Federation are... So after relying on Evelopedia and a few closely related post...
The recruiters seemed nice enough, and I got gang ****d.....
I respect your post on the subject Flinx, and I will take your suggestion.... Kind of motivated now for various reasons, but will enjoy inflicting as much pain on such a group of low lifes what ever chance I get.... I have still a few carriers hanging around.
