Tech2 component prices have fallen drastically in the last few months, and we have seen a corresponding fall in the price of tech2 items (albeit proportionally less). The agent drop rates have apparently been increased, and now you can manufacture the components and buy the BPOs on the NPC market. This is a good thing.
Unfortunately, we are about to see a repetition of the Tech2 price problems that occurred last year, and Morphite is the problem... It's only found in one ore, which is only found in 0.0 (afaik), and you need specialist mining skills to extract it. The market has already been cornered and prices have doubled in the last 2 weeks.
The cost of morphite now represents 86% of the total build costs of my tech 2 BPO. This is 7 times the cost of the tech 2 components required.
Morphite used to appear in small/trace quantities in normal roids. It should perhaps be put back.
Fundamentally, the issue is this: There should be more than one source for all bottom-level building components, morphite included.
ps: i am NOT a greedy tech 2 builder. I have 1 BPO, which i recieved 2 weeks ago. I have built 20 units for my own use, and made no isk whatsoever from tech 2 construction. Nor am i ever likely to (see above).

i think meowcat is being a bit sly
announce profits to be made from morphite - players start supplying it - price war ensues - meowcat makes his t2 stuff a lot cheaper

There are 2 issues here:
1. Morphite was recently the subject of an attempted (apparently successful) price fixing/monopolization scheme 2. Morphite is damn hard to mine.
Specifically 2 if we could get some T2 DCM lasers it would help a lot. Even then the skill requirements and the exploding roid problem make it annoying to mine to say the least. I'm not sure about other regions but the only sectors where mexroxit ore is seen is in sectors where you also have ark. Ark is much easier to mine, gives a greater yield, and doesn't do annoying things like cause damage to your ship.

Well considering the high ammount of skilltime involved before you can actually mine that stuff I would say it's good. People wont mine morphite if they can mine araknor/crock/bist for more profit and less skills. One of the mayor gripes from when DCM was released was that it was totally useless, now it's starting to get a bit more usefull. Not a bad thing at all in my book, even though i can't mine the stuff...

Blah blah. All this time people have been hunting roids non-stop to near extinction, and the moment they start fighting back a little, it's whine whine whine! Ohnoes!
I for one will be DEFENDING these roids when you bastards appear to slaughter them. And in return they will let me drink of their sparkly golden nipples, that I would once again be king of the tech 2 komponent. ------------

I say make the bloody stuff even harder to find and mine. Put it all in one region so alliances can fight over it and kill each other off. Let the price rise five times higher than it is now. Then very few will be able to buy tech two and everyone will continue to buy my tech one stuff. Screw tech two or three or tech infinity.
Have a nice day. |

That used to be true siddy ark no longer produces morphite. And if anyone here has mined the stuff its a pain in the arse. 3 hours to get maybe 1000 units and your lucky if it refines for 2k morphite in that three hours i could have made double that mining ark when prices were thru the floor on morphite. The fact that morphite is raising in price again is good it means the stockpiles of it have worn away from when ppl mined in in hidden belts rat free before they patched it. Another problem with mercoxite is the fact that its only in 0.0 and isnt as widespread as ark or bist. As for the t2 dcm lasers look on the market thier available as modulated dcm lasers 120m3 base for dcm mining plue they can be fitted with crystals for regular mining when the crystals become available

All i can say is YAY!! Specialised mining becomes profitable again....
"OMG i cant mine mercoxit in my IBIS with no skills and not make 10 gazillion ISK in an hour with my macros!!!!" Boooooohoooooooo the sooner they REDUCE T2 drops from Agents the sooner POS start getting profitable, specialised mining (ICE/DCM) becomes profitable and you'll see a healthier market. If get cheap tech 2 deep core miners availible or prices stay at 2 times the old one we would mine that instead of ark.
My dominix can sustain like 160m3/min of mercx mining , but close to 900m3/min ark mining. (cant use harvesters on deep core mining and the cap use isnt sustainable in a dominix).

"Kitty" here is the dark evil truth about tech 2 BPOs: many (most?) of them produce goods of limited value relative to the cost of production.
The price of morphite doesn't have much to do with it. Either the demand is very high and you can wash out the building expenses with your profits -or- the BPO gathers dust in your hangar.
Sadly most folks don't figure this out until they try to make money with tech 2 produciton.
ps - go after the nasty rogue drones. They drop good minerals including morphite. Or find a system that has a good rogue drone population and put good buy orders on the market.

There's plenty in Morphite in 0.0 for the patient ones who want to look. And, with the new lasers, mining it is actually worth your time, rather than the easier to find/easier to mine Bistot, Arkonor, and Crokite.

Riiiiiiiight.
Comp rewards make up 1/6 of my Isk from lvl 4 missions. One mission will give me enough in bounties to buy around two T2 modules (which are only 1-2 mil for most modules).
The most I have ever made from comps was 20 million Isk, which wont quite get me a cap recharger II. Mind you to get that 20 million worth of comps I got about 100 million from mission bounties. --------------------------------------------------

(1) this is nothing to do with MLM. I am not a representative of the corp, just posting my opinion as a part-time n00b T2 builder.
(2) pls tell me where i said there was 2 shortage of morhpite. There's plenty of it about, just at ridiculous prices. If you are implying that if i were to mine it myself it would become 'cheaper', well then i'd have to get into the whole opportunity cost argument, which is extremely tiresome.

Wait, your posting a conversation you had with yourself to show what? that we were AFK? Does that even make sense?
Not to me....Just for kicks, I am going to log my character on today @ lunch! HA HA, you guys can camp the station there waiting for her to undock, while I am at work.
Oh yeah I have seen some of the cargo containers you guys left behind in 0.0 while trying to come and "find" us. You really should come out here and get the Merc on your own as opposed to those inflated prices you find on the market (ps - I hope you lost some good ships along the way )
Oh and keep the war going, it's not costing us a thing, aside from the few times we decide to kill another one of your retarted alts with a frig. sucicide.
We kinda find this funny. You guys are obviously a building corp taking time out of your day to camp a station full of people who are afk. This means you are taking time away from mining/buiding/agent missions just to talk in local to people that are not even there, costing you even more money! HA, we love it!
EDITED - I would also like to add the following.... your channel shows you sitting in local for 30 min prior to talking? Where were you, did you not see these guys in the system or did you wait to talk until after they docked/logged off/ or just went afk? BUSTED

I was poor back then, spent the 30m I had on morph because I love taking investment advice from strangers and waited a bit. I bought it at 7k and sold it at 15k.

So - you're sufficiently at keys enough to undock & lose your ships to sentires as you kill a n00b scout, but mysteriously afk when a warring corp turns out? Hmmmm - you're right - clear case of suicide.

We find it kinda funny that you ebil badass "Ironxsinnerman> lol we are ranked 12th out of all the PvP corps in Eve" pirates won't come out to slaughter us uppity production types even at the weekend.
Would you like to buy some modules?

This is too good. It shows that your 5 (2 BS 2 cruiser 1 unknown (shows capsule on the killmail)) wouldn't engage our 3 (no BS) despite being at keys and having backup in system... BUSTED
Have a nice day.

Just for kicks, let's have a rough look at your beloved killboard, shall we?
Xmas week: 27 posted kills (oh well, even l33t pvpers need holidays) Following week: 52 posted kills (presumably back to normal) Millennium declares war First week of war: 36 posted kills This week: 12 posted kills
So a production corp decs you, and you suddenly don't wanna play? ____________________________________________

um that is odd isn't it, so is not talking in local for 30 min only to leave 10 min after you talk smack...how very odd.

We are always on the lookout for good prices, most of our sec ratings keep us from buying from you but we like to make our own. If we need some and your prices are good, there is a chance we would buy from you. We don't hold grudges!

Yes sadly that is the frigate we like to waste to lock down those at the gate, just for fun! Everyone likes to see someone blow up! We let those we kill see atleast some success, as you have found with our sucicide alt killing frigs!
Actually it shows to me that your strangely away from any fight we partake in. As you can see we were in the system, no doubt gate camping and yet you ask us were we are, 30 mins after you arrive, try searching for us instead of sitting ontop af the stacmon gate and running away if you see someone.....please!

Sadly they are....we need to get whips on them to do anything these days. Actually it looks less busy to me, since most of the guys left that corp within the last week....odd, maybe you haven't noticed the member count recently...
