Yet, still my Rifter cannot support even a Shield Booster 1 without a co-processor /wrists. Wtf am I doing wrong? Is the Rifter really only capable of fitting a Civilian Shield Booster without a co-processor????????????????

With AWU5 and Shield up 5 it still requires 48.72PG, and with engineering 5 I get up to 46.25... am I doing something wrong?

Biggest you can fit dosent always mean best. Might be able to get a T2 DCU onboard with that change as well. This is a good fit, I flew this for a while before I made a few changes.

Drop the 200s to 150s, and you can fit a small neut if you use a 3% grid implant. Drop to 125s, and it fits easily. Neut usually is worth more to me than a rocket, but ymmv. Shield Rifters are good; sometimes, the armor fit is a better choice, however, as that web is REALLY useful. Rifter, like all minny ships, can be setup a ton of ways, and all will work.

If you think the rifter CPU is bad you should try fitting some EANMs and E-War onto certain Amarr ships, it'll make you cringe. The one ship that DOES need a CPU boost is the Cyclone. It has a shield booster bonus, but it doesn't have enough CPU for a decent fit with a LSB, let alone an XLSB. Some ships just don't have any good fitting capability at all. Omen and SML Kestrel come to mind.

Here's a tip: use a Mag Scattering Amp instead of a Photon field to plug your EM hole, your cap will thank you for it. @ the OP: no, the Rifter was not designed for shield boosters (both your CPU and your capacitor will cry, guaranteed). It works well as a shield passive/buffer gankfrig (gyro+te+dc in lows), or as a repper or plated (depends on situation) tacklefrig.
