So I leave for my freshman year of college in 10 days and the school I'm going to gives all freshman a COMPLETELY FREE laptop (oh, but there's also a $35,500 tuition -__-). I figure I'll be doing a decent amount of gaming when I'm t school, so I want to pick the laptop with the most potential for gaming. Here's a link to the 3 choices they give me

Which one should I go with? (the MacBook is out of the question)

I don't expect to be able to run anything crazy on any of these laptops, but I've got a pretty big collection of games and I would to be able to run a decent amount of them. |

I'd recommend the T-Series Thinkpad, they've all got the same GPU but the rest of the specs are better. The HD 3000 is entirely capable of running EVE at a good framerate on lower settings. |

To the OP: you're not going to get great gaming performance with any of those options, but this^^ is your best bet. |

I hear the HD 4000 will have an even higher number.
HD 3000 entirely capable is like saying you can run your car on the rims, it a tad slower but saves you tires. Once you think you have it all, you-áhave actually become-áignorant towards everything else.

Don't forget the 10 Gs for a dorm room and the 5 Gs for a meal plan.

Just browsed their website for ***** and giggles and stumbled upon this:
"With three friendly, residential campuses in New York, St. JohnGÇÖs is the perfect choice for an affordable, high-quality private education."
hahahaha... I'll take my affordable, high quality public education at 850Gé¼ tuition any day. -Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. |

Too bad EU university educations pale in comparison to private university's worth paying for (MIT, Harvard, Yale, etc.)

While i won't make any claim about those uni's which no doubt offer great quality education the thing that EU universities usually fail at is providing "fancy" infrastructure. But when it comes to the actual education i can only say that money means nothing. -Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. |

If Daddy can pay the tuition maybe he can afford a real laptop? You can donate this one to some poor kid who needs it. |

True, the real value is in networking and making connections, which is why I think those private schools that I mentioned are worth it on top of their educational quality. Personally, I wished I had just banked the money I spent in tuition for a CS major.
Anyway, I've derailed the thread enough, to the OP: I'd listen to others who say to get the Lenovo T series laptop. It's your best bet for performance. |

Find someone that'll trade you PLEX for it, including giving them the choice of the three. Tuition (life-long) debt well spent! plumbing aint so bad anyway, you'll have more money for retirement, at least you get something back out of the wasted tuition |

Shame you didn't ask "that" question. The answers could have been eyeopening and life changing. Laptop is still crap though, Eve player deserves better.

I only saw one "insulting" your choice. Me and others are just shocked by the costs. Which wouldn't have even been mentioned if you didn't mention the tuition fee.
