starcraft 2 seems more like starcraft 1 v2.0, in what it seems that it's just starcraft 1 with some minor gameplay adjustments, a graphical engine upgrade and some cool HD movies strapped in.
in sum, the cut-scenes are pretty much 90% of the gamevalue.
I cant agree. Even if you dont think the single player campaign is worth the money, there's still the multiplayer which will keep you playing for hours and hours (unless you dont like RTS, but then you shouldnt have bought the game), plus the massive amount of custom games that include 1st person shooters, tower-defense, zombie-survival, Dota-like games, party games, poker, chess, etc etc. I'm not claiming it to be the best game ever made, but you get a lot of value for relatively little money. x |

Mutiplayer sucks. The average game lasts for around 3-5 minutes before someone gets the rush in first. Company of heros is so much more fun.

Anyone that plays SC2 knows that 3-5 minute games are non-existent. The average game lasts about 15-20 minutes. x |

World in Conflict. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. Company of Heroes, plus expansions. Dawn of War franchise, though not so much these days. Homeworld 2.
Starcraft does not compete with any of these. That is all.

opposed to the multiplayer of SC1?
you know, the 12-year old game that still had many multiplayer championships played to this day, widely used on lan parties and actually costed peanuts compared to SC2? ---

Supreme Commander 2: 75% off and still a piece of **** that isn't worth $10.
The game isn't as good as SupCom, but it is still a better deal than a Blizzard title that is region locked, episodic and looks basically the previous game with prettier graphics but which wasn't region locked and episodic. And is still played to this date.
In the wisdom of Digital Solaris. Supreme Commander reigns supreme. Dragging Company of Heroes and Dawn of War along by the wrists. |

I think most folks have an alternate game to play while they also "play" eve. I know I just got done with mass effect 2, and now I'll probably go on to F.E.A.R. 2 or just go back through mass effect 1 so I can actually have my choices make an impact on ME 2. Dunno yet... but the point is, What are you doing posting on the Forums when you could play SC 2? :P

Supreme commander 2 is acutally quite good now that they removed some of the supcom lite mechanics from the game and made it more like FA. There are even some mods that are importing all the FA units and converting the economy over to a full on FA style. Then you get the best of both worlds as the supcom2 engine is a fair bit better at large fights than the FA engine with none of that sim speed sillyness.

Do both atm, SC2 is a barrel of fun. And EVE is...well EVE. Do want to get hold of some TA again though, that game was utter win. Can't say I connected too well with SupCom though

If you find Starcraft 2 "thrilling and strategically exciting" I'm pretty sure you never had enough savvy to have anything worth having in Eve.
SC2 is a reasonably solid RTS nothing more, in fact the biggest puzzle to me is how it got so many gushing reviews, some of the reviews were just embarrassing just falling short of declaring it the 2nd coming, able to walk on water, and cure the lame.
Sup Com:FA.

First of all if you think grinding for isk is the goal in EVE or that if you NEED isk you need to grind for it, you're probably better off elsewhere. And regarding SC2; I'm no 15 year old Asian so I'm no good at SC2.

Played the demo 2 days ago. Although the intro and scene's in between missions are really nice, the game is no longer the Starcraft I fell in love with, and still love & play. My pants really fell on my socks when the third demo mission came to an dissatisfying end and I saw a wowificated BS with horrible fps fly over the battlefield.
The current zerg are no longer the Zerg I knew, interface is counter intuitive, and very hard to figure out what you order to build. Like I thought I was building a bunker instead I was building an 'add on' which couldn't even be reprocessed or flown away.
It looks nice but its dumbed down for stupidly short missions.
No game is worth 60 bucks. I loathe to have to sign up for stoopid 'Battlenet' to play the game on my computer, next they'll force me to sign up for stoopid 'facebook'.
And again, I cannot stand the look of the wowificated units.

I miss War Craft 2, the only RTS worth playing not counting C&C TD and RA.
10 Dragons Hasted and Bloodlust was always great fun.
