Now that we have full-bodied avatars, please don't start littering all your ads with scantily-clad females. I find it really irritating when a game company does that to attract more customers.

Beware the "Baywatch Effect".
If they use skin to sell this game, it will fill up with the kind of base people who thought Baywatch was cool because it was full of skin.
They will, at least, not last very long when the quick gratification they expect does not appear.

àand I still would like to point out that this little lady has been with us for quite a while now:

They'd have to dial up the scantily-ness gauge a few notches on the character builder until we get to create anything like that. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

HTFU. Literally. HAH.
No, seriously, I hope they fill the game with half-nekked women. It makes the game more realistic (for me at least. HAH!)
Men like scantily clad females. Deal with it.

Have to agree with OP. If CCP goes with semi-clad avatars, male or female, you''ll just attract a lot of weirdos who can't find real life spouses cos they're too infatuated with pixelated-toons Uhhgghhh Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona or content directly related to Eve Online. Spitfire |

What you are doing is being afraid for no real reason. You can't be scantily clad in EVE, but you can still look very sexy, or at least you could if CCP bothers to add sexy clothing at some point. The point is there is no way to even achieve the g-string nekkid look with a finalized character, so there is no point being worried about it at this point.
That doesn't mean CCP should go for the sex appeal. You might be annoyed by it, but taking advantage of sex appeal is very effective in attracting customers. For years EVE has been nothing but a cold and lifeless universe without anything resembling a living human in it. It attracted the people who got aroused by spreadsheets and spaceships, so attracting people who find human shapes attractive is an improvement. Now that we are finally getting something to fill that hole, CCP needs to use it in their adverticing to full advantage.
Hot women attract attention like nothing else and they sell your product by just standing near it. CCP is already whoring their product at every possible opportunity, so it is naive to think they wouldn't take full advantage of the best adverticing opportunity they have ever had. Yes some people will be irritated by this tactic, but so what. People get irritated by everything here, so you might as well go for the effective solutions and let people be irritated as much as they like.
I also don't see why we should care what type of players this tactic will attract. It's not like we haven't had all kinds of people try out the game before. If they don't end up liking the game, they will leave very soon with CCP being a bit richer. If they like the game enough to stay, I couldn't care less about their little fetishes. It's not like the game doesn't already have people who try to hit on you just because you have a female avatar or other no life basement dwellers. They always existed and if you thought otherwise, you were just being ignorant. Any new weirdo coming to the game at this point should feel right at home with the existing population.

space murder is ok, but dressing scantily is not? ...and some people think this makes sense?
pls CCP add as much scantily clad female as possible to game and ads. I'm forced to look at the ads anyways as i websurf, might as well make them as attractive as possible.

Pff! You say that as if there was some kind of distinction between the two.

It is the end result of Europe shipping all of its Puritans across an ocean to die in a forest. And it would have worked too, if it wasn't for those pesky natives.

As long as they pay their sub, and die under my guns, that is fine by me. Although, I do think the 'baywatch effect' isn't the right general idea - this is already a very male dominated game. Part of the point of Incarna is to encourage a little more diversity, and make it much more interesting to female players.
