New patch, and i can't see anything during the character creation, i have to guess where the race selection buttons are, i only find them because the cursor changes, and the video then shows when i click on one.
I can also see the next and back buttons.
3d things (the people) show, as do the options down the right side, but a lot of other 2d items are just invisible on a dark black background.
Anybody else getting this?

I haven't had any problems so far, have you tried fiddling with the graphics settings? Bit of a stretch but when something isn't working for me just tinkering a bit usually does something.

I get this too, most times the character creator simply doesn't load at all. Incredibly annoying. I've tried tinkering with graphics settings, I'm updating my graphics driver right now too, so hopefully that makes a difference.
What GPU you using, Nicholas?
I'm running the GeForce 9600 GSO.

I'm running in windowed mode and it seems to be working now.
Try that.

I have the same issue, and windowed mode isn't fixing anything. All I'm seeing is, "Choose your race," "Race," and "Back + Next."

I've been having this issue for a few days now. Tried fixing the client, copying over my live TQ client and patching that to SISI and still no go. Some sort of advice from CCP would be good here, especially considering this is due to go live on TQ in 7-10 days.

Try that.
I've only been running with the fixed window setting, maybe it's worth a try to run in a smaller window and adjusting the window size. It might bring the selection back as it were. It's not a problem as I know where to click anyway, but annoying to see these kind of bugs so late in the game. |

I always run in windowed (now "fixed") mode.
I'll try tinkering with the graphics settings later, i haven't had any problems with the earlier versions though.

Changing the "fixed window" to "windowed" didn't make any change for me. Still black backgrounds with the selection icons missing. Tried to change some quality settings, no effect either.

Ship is invisable and so is station and everything else once I undock, only happens when I am in my tengu, if I change ship AND THEN exit the game and reload, then and only then do models start loading uop again. Only happens with my tengu

Same for me.
I can enter the character editor on one of my old characters, but "create new character" just gives me a blank screen.
Win7 64bit, Nvidia 8800GT, latest drivers etc.

I'm having the same problem re-creating my character, just a black screen. Win7 64-bit, Geforce 8800 GTX, latest drivers. Tried the windowed mode workaround but the result is the same, stuck at Entering character creation.

Same thing here except Female Character creation IS working male character creation does not. Checked with all races and bloodlines.

I've had problems creating both female and male characters. Both re-creating and creating new ones.

I'm having similar problems too.
The character creator for males doesn't load at all and for females when I go into the portrait creator I get a black screen.
Using a Radeon HD 5770 with the latest drivers on Win7 64-bit. |

I had the same issue until the very lastest build via SiSi launcher. Literally an hour or so ago I updated it again (was about 300MB), and it all works fine now.
It seems we've had two builds today just to confuse everyone

With the latest build 219412 updated via SisiLauncher I'm back to black backgrounds. The Launcher updated the hires male/female packages, over 200MB and partially broke the client again. |

Looking at the latest build via SiSi launcher and still hanging at "Entering Character Creation" when trying to access the creator. The bar fills out and then just sticks there, taunting me. Have to ESC to get back to login in order to access an alt I've previously re-created using the new creator.

Does it just hang or do you get a black screen with "choose race, next, back" texts showing? You can still use the creator, the race selection buttons are on the lower center of the screen. Pay attention when the cursor ads a small triangle when you can click an invisible button. The bloodline gender selector is just over the characters head in the screen. |

Nope the "Entering Character Generation" bar remains on screen at 100%...I don't get the black screen.
EDIT:
If I create a charcter from scratch I can see the models to select bloodline and gender no problem. It is when I try to move onto editing the model that it all goes to hell in a handcart

Same problem as OP.
Just a black screen, Text and "back" "next" buttons, but nothing else. My cursor doesn't even light up when I mouse over the races.

If you are updating to Build 219281 the 8MB patch is not enough. Use the SiSi launcher program and it will download and additional 240MB of Character creation data.

Hmmm, i downloaded a patch via the sisilauncher, and it fixed it.
Then i got another one, and it stopped working again.

SiSi Launcher says there is nothing new for me to download but I am also having this problem
Intel Core i3 2.2Ghz, 4GB Ram, Intel Graphics Accelerator 3 (rubbish laptop, I am aware of this don't point it out)
Edit: Just noticed when sisi asked me if I wanted to create a new avatar for my main, that the problem only seems to be occuring with the background images/rendering. So when creating a completely new character I can only see black and the back/next buttons, but when updating an existing char I see the character model on a black background

Current Sisi build as of 11 January still not able to progress beyond "Entering Character Generation" (100%) screen.

There is a 15MB patch for Build 219662 and then SiSi Launcher adds another 70MB of character creation data which allows you to get into the character creator and fixes the black background problem however the portrait section is hosed again for both male and female.
Also did you notice CTL-Q no longer works.

I only got the chance to update Sisi via autoamatic patching, but yesterday the Sisilauncher wasn't working for me for the first time, so I couldn't download the additional(?) data. |
