Since my requests in the main thread haven't been responded to, I'm going to get a bit more obvious about it and make a separate thread. It's short, and simple:
CCP, please make all hair and clothing options available for all races. There is no earthly reason why this shouldn't be done.

Ok, maybe I'm the oddball or something, but I think diversity in all races & bloodlines is great. The fact Amarr's get robes, Minnies get Tatooes, and whatever the other two get and the other races don't, adds something to each race that is quite different from others. Robes on a Caldari or Minnie seem a bit wierd, doesn't it?

Yes.
And that's exactly the point.
Look, we're not normal members of our societies. My Ni-Kunni character is a rebel. She has spent the last seven years living with the Minmatar and working for the Republic Fleet. She would view the cultural customs of the Amarr Empire as symbols of an Empire she hates.
So why can't she wear leather and shades?
Ultimately, it just comes down to the fact that your clothes are the easiest things about you to change. While many people wear the clothes common to their culture, not everyone does -- especially when having their picture taken.
However, it's a minor point. Cross cultural garb doesn't matter so much to me. I want flowing dresses and shiny swords.

Um, no?
If you take a glance at the RP forums there are tons of Caldari and Minmatar loyal to the Amarr Empire (heck, there's a whole nation of Minmatar still loyal to the Amarr - Ammatar Mandate!). Intaki are a very spiritual people as well, and quite a lot of the old generator's Intaki clothing looks like robes. Meanwhile, there are Gallente, Jin-Mei and Intaki such as myself whose characters want those flight jackets and the long hair option returned.
If CCP is worried about Everyone Looking The Same Syndrome, then limiting clothing and hair options by race is a terrible choice. We need it opened up so that everyone can have every piece of clothing.

I'm not sure I agree with the all-hair-styles request. but what I do want and miss already is my giant Amarr faction hair bow. I hope there is more coming to this character creator..
And one more thing. please give us repeat access to the photo portion of the character lab. I have a low resource machine..which I can make work by down stepping the settings. I've already made two mistakes on character photo lighting because of this.
I understand why you wouldn't want players changing their face over and over...not the least of the reasons being role playing.. but I see no reason you wouldn't allow us to take another photo of the same character afterword to replace an older one.

I do think clothing being locked to just one race/bloodline is somewhat unrealistic and considering the sunglasses are no longer unique to the Minmatar why should any other items be?
I doubt it will happen though CCP either have some great surprises ready for us they are keeping tight lipped about or it's WUSIWUG and people are going to rage. (myself included if Deteis don't get black hair back)

yes, sure. I am not sure I even get the idea behind it: tidy and well behave sane eggers in stations? Are we really speaking about Eve?
I would event go further and ask for complete freedom, like complete RGB wheels for colors (or we lost the ability to die hair at some point?), and any facial features for anyone, with surgery and al. (but that will be for microtransaction later, ofc...)

I just logged on Sisi and i'm disappointed that several hairstyles disappeared for my Caldari female character.

Same with my toon. There was a perfect longish hairstyle available that suited my vision of the toon. I was throughly annoyed to find that it was removed from the options for my gallente/gallente as I logged in this time around to play with the editor. Very disappointed by this course of action if it's final. Losing the Caldari biker style jacket and some other clothing was annoying as it is. :/

Freedom of hairstyles? Freedom of clothes? Sure, i don't care in the very least. Because the clothing options available now look like crap. We don't have any neat shoes, we don't have any neat trousers (like at all) and most of our shirts look like crap. If this "was all" ie. every option on the character creator beta coming to life, im severely disappointed. I don't want to look like a bag of potatoes, and i certainly don't want only one acceptable set of clothes. Everyone will look the same? Well obviously they will, 90% of your clothes were abysmal. Seriously.. the shoes.. the baggy pants....

The point is that CCP have not created any additional artwork since the first version of the character generator went live on sisi. More color options for clothes does not count. I demand more options for EACH race. CCP, please re-hire the graphics team you fired recently. You will need them.

For people who are fabulously rich and powerful, how come pod pilot clothing all looks like it came from Honest Gurista's Military Surplus?
Why is there no formal wear? No 'looks nice but would be horribly impractical for people who work for a living' clothing? No stylish items made by the finest fashion designers the EVE cluster has? Why are there no skirts? 
If you want to look like some tough-ass Minmatar biker that's your choice, but I'd rather look slightly more sophisticated.

as you said "whatever the other two get". my question is what is that? as I can't seem to see anything that stands out dramatically that makes at least the Gallente different, I mean we have lost our random plastic looking visor things, and long hair.....
Really hope there is more options on release which were hidden as a "surprise".....

Just had a look at the old character creator and seen the amount of long hair Variants available, as well as the strange addiction to Japanese samurai style hair cuts for the intaki. so from an RP stand point I could almost say that long hair for this bloodline could almost be cultural even, meaning long hair removal could make the bloodline less complex. (in RP that is)

was also wondering if the lack of long hair for most races and genders (noticed females did not have many long hair Variants) is due to a problem in the carbon technology CCP is using? maybe a dev could comment on this?

I have a feeling that we will have more options in the future, after Incarna has been released.
Hairstyle, hair color, makeup, clothing, tattoos - I think we will be allowed to update our portraits similar to updating your driver's license. Just a thought *hope* though.

I dont think you have a say there. They seem quite adamant about the micro-transaction concept.
The way I see it, they are thinking constantly "How can we get more money out of these d*uches? We know they have more money, we're only getting like $30/mo from most of them. We need to fund moar projects!! Micro-transactions Yarr!!!!!!"

Well, I have been pitching repeat access from the perspective of character evolution. eg a pirate that comes in from the cold to join an organized pirate hunting corp might change the lighting to look less disreputable (assuming they had previously done a menacing portrait to suit their old employment.) Or a hungry looking newbie capsuleer scrabling for scraps who used their pilot's license photo would pay for some good duds, a more expensive haircut, and a professional photographer to take their portrait when they became a big-time industrialist.

All my bump.
I love in-depth character creators like this because I want to make me, myself, in game. A digital photo-perfect recreation.
Closest I've ever come was Oblivions, and it's still flawed.
Here, I could make my face pretty well - But the hair is oh-so-disappointing. I'm a guy with long hair, and there is none available for Gallente, save for the stupid dreadlocks. Even the "long" hair the Amarr have available is more Liquid-Snake Mullet than actual long hair.
I *know* I saw longer hair in some of the test character stuff from before on males. Why isn't more available? Or at least, the same hair available to all races? Fuller beards would be nice, too.
I don't aim to sound like such a complete whiner, but I'm pretty seriously considering just cancelling my account after a year and a half of play. My avatar is vital to me in any game I play, and I don't want to be stuck with short hair. My first response when seeing there wasn't any was, "Well, we've had a good run, Eve."
It just seems counterproductive to put so much work into so in-depth a character creator, tout it as being such a huge thing, then artificially limit what can be done with it.

If this dose happen I really don't see how this is fair to characters affected by this. my character has had long hair since I created it (around 2005) and now it has to have short? unless I pay for it by micro-transaction, that's like making all the Amarr pay for their hoods to me.

I can honestly say I was very excited to try out the Sisi build of the character creator when it was first released. I was having a blast trying out different settings and looks, trying to get my original character look (though I can't even come close).
Until I hit the hair options.
What... what the hell CCP.
I consoled myself with the thought that this was only a test build, and certainly there would be more options available once it went live. I logged in, fingers crossed... and still the same sh*t-tastic horrible hair options for Intaki males.
We basically have bald, balding, jerry lewis curl, balding jerry lewis curl, or minmatar (dread/cornrows). Oh, and there's some silly anime whispy thing, and a "I have free candy in my van" style.
Delightful.

Most likely that technology is top secret, high tech military hardware that cannot be sold in any way. Like in the game where the top notch navy stuff never leaves the hands of those deserving it. No one not 150% loyal to Caldari is flying a Navy Issue Raven for instance.

In other words: yes, I was quite disappointed by the editor as well.
As for the long hair that someone else asked about: the two female long hair styles had some very severe bends around the shoulder level that looked very painful to the poor polygons. I guess that was why they were removed.
No idea what they made the Carbon adverts with, but it certainly was not the Incarna characters. Heck, even those outrageous outfits would be better than the "Crappy T-shirts for the elite" initiative Incarna gave us.
