OP don't waste time on these GD cretins. They'll troll and troll hard. Make a post in Out of Pod or some other idea sub forums. These people don't have many good ideas anyway (except Tippia..her ideas are just laced with bluntness). |

Seems like he's just another 'GD cretin'. |

You didn't just "challenge his point." You aimed a nuke at it and shot it out of the sky, then rubbed it in his face. Deny what you want, but that's what happened. There's a difference between constructive criticism and pure assholery. |

"Deny what you want, but that's what happened."
I made a point about his claim that HW was the forerunner of EVE, citing storyline and game mechanics examples. I challenged this by contrasting the storylines of both games, showing that they really weren't similar.
If that's "nuking" a point and "pure assholery", I really hope you never enter a civil debate with somebody. |

You could say the same about me, because I did it on purpose, specifically at you, because of all the initial postings.
You made your point in a blunt, rude, and aggressive manner instead of attempting to keep it civilized. Instead of a "While I see what you're saying," or "I kind of get where you're going, but," you basically say "No you're wrong, gtfo EVE" while he address you bastards in a very kind and diplomatic manner. So yes, it is assholery and nuking without any need to. |

We're talking about two great games with completely different design philosophies. Don't insult them by trying to shove them together. The Skunkworks is recruiting. -áhttps://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1540711#post1540711 |

Elite, learn2gaminghistory. If you don't see a problem in 0.0 eroding into two big super-coalitions and a few hangers on in areas nobody cares about.. then you don't have brains. |

I had Elite and still have the Homeworld discs here beside me. I thought Homeworld was fantastic in its time and would love to see it rejuvenated. I can see similarities and there are elements that I'd love EVE to steal, e.g. elements of the UI. Good luck |

Stylistically EvE borrowed a lot from Homeworld, but if any game was the grandaddy of EVE Online, it was Tradewars 2002.
Early versions of EVE were pretty much tit for tat a 3d version of tradewars

Go ahead and give it a whirl on my tradewars server by connecting with your favorite telnet client to megazone.ath.cx :)
Edit: I'll also add Elite to that list as EVE borrowed heavily from Elite's gameplay. |

Considering that would open them up to IP infringement lawsuits, obviously not, they will claim they dreamt it up all themselves until the grave. |

Both Elite and the original Tradewars can conceptually be tied back to Traveller (space role-playing game circa late 70s). So you could say, in a sense, EVE is a direct descendant of Traveller (its great ancestor).

Personally the OP capitalizing both Home and World and constantly using it as two words bugs the living hell out of me.
+1 If you were a HW fan before joining EVE and that one of the first thing you did was load gamma crystals on all of your Amarr ships :P
Still, while the HW universe has quite the rich backstory and lots of basis for factions (like the Kiith clans and the Taiidan and the Vaygr and Turanic Raiders and Kadeshi) I'd simply prefer a HW3 than any sort of silly campaign to infuse it with EVE.
I wanna know what silly thing they unleashed when they reactivated the hyperspace gate network with Sajuuk D: The Drake is a Lie |

Also, another game more Eve-like than Homeworld is Escape Velocity Nova, and most likely its predecessors as well. Open world, trading, missions, pirates...that was a fun game. The Skunkworks is recruiting. -áhttps://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1540711#post1540711 |

on another note: go play homeworld instead of eve. Go back to the ghetto and keep your mouth to yourself. Did anyone one show up on your doorstep insulting you? Or can you merely only play a game and not develop one. Simple minded podder.
I of course shouldn't give the OP more attention than he deserves by bumping his thread, but I just want to say:
wow.
