Last time this happened to me I just right-clicked the eve shortcut > Properties > Run in admisitraitor mode. I also turned off the visuals for windows there too.
To get windows back to proper colour I clicked anything that made the UAC popup, like trying to change your account settings from your little avatar pic on the start menu.

simple solution is once u have left eve press ctrl+alt+del and then return to windows via esc key or mouse click cancel

It does the same thing on my Vaio. Actually it darkens after I quit the game as if gamma has been set very low. I have to start another graphic apllication and guit it, so I get my normal light level back.

Haven't seen much in terms of POSITIVE posts in this thread.. Big shout out to CCP for taking the time to update the system AT NO COST OTHER THAN SUBSCRIPTION!!!!!! Take the likes of WOW and Evercrack that you have to PAY every time they come out with a new expansion.. mind you, this is addition to normal cost of paying to play.. This is now what, 11 full expansions of Eve.. I'll accept that we pay for it with the time we can't play during the upgrades.. once again, big shout to CCP Admins/GM's/MOD's/etc that make the game what it is today (and take the Bull$h!t of the complainers)
Grats for making this a great game..

plus: DTs have been lowered on a regular basis from 1 hour to 1/2 hour
plus: DTs keep much more on their schedules nowadays
plus: my chars are old enough so I always have longterm skills to put in (and I really need those now). poor noobs, must not feel very well treated.
negative: this week is spoiled, and most likely the WE with it, when I look at all the issues
negative: my daughter makes more customized avis with sims, the ideas how to customize an avatar are there, since years...
negative: changes from this update aren't defined clearly, I have seem the green lines already yesterday
negative: lack of respondiveness of CCP on suggestions, I've been tying things on Singularity, no information if anything that was a 'full-stop-issue' for us has been solved
sucks: CCP still sticks with the 'we know, what is comming, but keep it a secret *twinkle-twinkle*, that kind of thinking seems valid to me for market affecting stuff like the NPC goods, now build by players. for probably highly affecting stuff like the incursions, it's just bad, to not know about the opportunities, how long an incursion will affect a system, what the reward for them is, how fleeting ups of strangers are supported (the 'don't trust anybody' thing)

hmm, quite interested, i definatly flip flipped on the thought of incursions, in the psace of 1 day, after 12hrs or so trying to get a kill in highsec.. ive finally come around to the idea, hopefully with all these new effects happening, that in turn it could shake the game up a little bit and make a plethrua of new situations CCP or we havnt considered... deadspace fit Megathrons heading in and out of the new sansha incursions  , going to be rather good I reckon
