In other words: Do we all see the same 'colormap' when we scan? (scan skills being the same!)
This is one thing I cannot test myself, because although I have my other two chars. they all have different scanning skills.
I can see the effect my extracting has on my own resouces. But do other players see (and bear) that same hole in te resource color map?
If I 'mine myself into a hole', will that disuade other players from mining the same area?
Would the scans my most learned char takes of my alts planets be accurate for their use? _______

If your skills are the same then yes.

If two seperate people are mining the same area/spot for same resource it will have a negative impact on havested resources e.g having over lapping mining heads.

It may do ??? but you can get over lapping resources in the same area which may create hot areas of two different kinds which may appear as some one else mining that area !

I tryed this method bit tricky tho... what i done was look for my mains own colony and set another up near by... simple as really
I like the drag feature of mining heads, as when one spot starts to yield less returns... i can drag mining head around area of operation to seek a higher yield percentage

But there is no way to see where other players extractors are, is there? I only see other players factories, etc, not extraction heads. (or maybe I'm the only one on my planet who is still using PI?).

No, as far as I know, there isno way to see another players extraction heads. Just the eextraction Controll units
But a dev said in a test center thread that the heads of other players dont interfear the way your own heads do.
If there is any interfearance it is only due to the depleation of the planetory resource map. _______

The devs specifically stated that you do not compete with others for planetary resources. I'd assume that's true until it's proven otherwise.
I'll go take a look on my planets with two accounts tonight and see if I can figure it out, but it would be vastly simpler to program a system where we don't interact with each other. The simplest answer is usually the best one.
