Naw, you didn't fail.
As for me, I spent a lot of time redoing my character from the first go around, making it look way more life-like and then I FUBAR'd the lighting,  Guess I'll just have to wait for the piercings, tats and scars expansion.
Minmatar aren't used to bright lights anyway, hence the shades....

I'm happy with the pose and lighting. I should have checked to see where her eyes were looking before I clicked "Finalize". In such a small preview, it was hard to tell. |

I am extremely happy with the 2nd rendition of the portrait.
The funny thing is that I didn't actually change anything on the character except the hair; the facial structure, clothing, and makeup are all basically identical.
Lighting, position, and camera angle makes a world of difference.

And thank God your gf has a better taste than you! 
No, make-up and lipstick aren't identical, there's quite some subtle but important difference between your 1st and 3rd try which makes her look a lot better overall. In the 1st she has white eyeliner, the 2nd try she had black but quite heavy, the 3rd try more subtle, for instance. Same with the lipstick and eye shadow. See what a little make-up can do for you! ;) |

Sunglasses are the only thing keeping Vherokior going and even then I had to settle for "kinda attractive but made funny by sunglasses + explosion in background" instead of "actually attractive." Sebestior (spelling?) is where it's at now for minnies. |

True, and if CCP gave us the option to switch bloodlines one time, I would!
I liked me original me better, but I doubt CCP is going to give us a bloodline/race change.
And if they do, it probably wont be free but more like Blizzards payed Racechange 
So I guess we'll have to live with it...
To be honest, I'm kinda getting used to the sunglasses now, so I might not switch at all |

Im totaly not happy with my new Toons.
For some reason light and poses do actualy change when you enter the game. Even tho the picture is show befor saving it isnt the same as the one shown in the game chats.
Also for some wierd reason the light for my amarrian got screwed up. Maybe i had to clear the cache befor i started to created, im not sure, but now im stuck with a hooded amarrian that simply has a nearly black icon. I cant see his facial scars and age crap. After i cleared my cache even the good image i had in the character selection got screwed over to a way to dark image.
Last but nog least, my Gallente female (this char). Tends to favor sleepy eye. The pose i have now is the only one that shows up good with anny light setting. All the other poses and tilts make it look either to dark to sleepy or (no offence meant here) chinees eyed.
I hope CCP is gonna fix this so i can actually make a good character that fits me and is some what the same as my old character picture. |

I wish I could change the fact that my avatar's lips look like they have lippy on even with the option removed/disabled... Have to resort to dark light :(. |

Avatar customization is pure crap. Pod pilots are immortal demi-gods heavily modified by cybernetics. Why in the name of all that is holy would our aesthetic options be limited to generic vampire/matrix clubbing clothes and sun glasses?
Yeah, two birds with one stone for the vampire game, try using EVE as your testbed a bit less blatant. I am shocked there is not a fang option on the char creator... |

No actually. I did save a picture with my eyes closed. Double checked it, even looked at the pic in the cache. But CCP have rendered it with my eyes open.  |

Spent a while on this, but I'm not that happy with it. I want my tattoo's damnit! And the selection of backgrounds is bad, there aren't enough bright ones, you should easily be able to select the color of a single-color gradient back-grounds...
Also, trying to get dark-gray hair is not possible, moar colors please!
Small portrait doesn't look so good in-game either, you should be able to get a preview of all sizes of the portrait before you make your final choice.

Uh no. Bad thing happened the game disconnected and I came back with really bizarre makeup on. So no my second portrait is ruined. No Liv wasn't drunk and she didn't pick out white eyeliner. Meh

My portrait looks like something you would find on the cover of a comic book.
Portraying the protagonist with the caldari emblem in the background. Sort of like Superman. Or something like that.
