Edited by: Kirana on 21/01/2011 22:23:24 Did anyone else experience skill issues after patch?
I came back from patch with my skill tree FUBARD. I was a pretty standard high end BS pilot and market trader/industry person and when I came back I was missing levels in most of my high end skills and even missing skills as well as having skills that I didn't pre-patch.
When they credited back learning skills a while back I dumped that into training all skills for Amarr carriers, making myself basically a 5/4 level Amarr carrier pilot. Post patch I now have Caldari carrier AND dread skills at various levels from low to moderate. But since I wasn't a missile pilot I have none of the skills to use a Caldari dread right. Can't even fit torps on it. LOL
I have petitioned but the GM keeps trying to tell me that there is nothing wrong and that I have those skills and have for some time. At this point I have gone back and forth with him several times trying to beat it into his head that something is wrong with my skills and that I didn't just forget that a year ago I dropped an assload of ISK on cap skills, and then trained them for weeks. And things like, why would I train up those skills and then not ever own a compatible ship?
It's showing first trained dates for the skills going back to January of last year. I can't think of how this could have happened and the GM apart from probably thinking I am trolling or something, doesn't seem to realize that I am effectively arguing to have less skills by wanting my old skills back. Why would I lie about that?
I considered just going with it but since my skill sheet is such a cluster F right now I can't effectively use the different skills without months of training supporting skills.

Edited by: Kirana on 22/01/2011 17:58:37 GM is still telling me I am screwed because logs are lying. Any dev that sees this please weigh in. I am basically being told that I am screwed on a toon I have built over 7 years and I can't accept that there are no logs of my character's pre-1.1.0 condition.

Have you asked to have it escalated to a senior GM? There's not too much we can do for you.

Wasn't so much asking the community to do anything. I was hoping that the problem wasn't limited to me so that it could get more attention.
Trying to get it escalated but not sure they are taking me seriously. ____

I can see how you might think that looking at the surface.
But because of the way things happened there is no chance. I have 3 active accounts right now. All three had learning skills to 5. So all 3 got the learning skill credit on Dec 15th. Kirana, being my mission toon got Amarr carrier our of that, first alt being my PVP toon got Amarr dread, second alt being my industry toon got Rorqual. I got enough skill credit to train them all into those ships at 5/4, including supporting skills. The alts are fine and consistent. Kirana is now a mess. She has cal dread and carrier at 3, has no cap torp skills, no cap shield skills, no siege mod skill, basically exactly what you would expect to see if you smashed my Amarr dominated skill tree together with a Caldari dominated skill tree.
It's hard to get confused about that. I could maybe get confused and train Kirana for Amarr dread and the other alt for Amarr carrier. But not only getting the ship wrong but the race, twice..? Plus they are telling me that training logs show that I trained Caldari carrier and dread a solid year ago. It's not like I would forget that I dropped nearly 1 billion isk on skills for the wrong ships. Then just never finish that training or ever buy compatible ships...
So yah... ____

When you're paying out that much for skill books you would have more of an idea which skills you bought I'm sure, I'm going to check my skills too, just in case, everything seems ok but I'd like to be sure. ------------------------------------------------ Quafe is people! |

Yah, I honestly might not have even noticed the other weird things I am suspecting about some of my other skills if it hadn't been for the cap skill mess. I went in to train her post 1.1.0 and her ship command was expanded and I noticed too much caldari in there. Then I am like Caldari Carrier... Caldari Dreadnought... Huh? *Scroll scroll*... Amarr Carrier... gone... WTF??? *Look at all other skills* Uhmmm... Whose skill sheet is this??
My other toons check out. I can tell because I have a pretty distinct signature in my training and a way of going about training that Kirana's sheet absolutely doesn't have. This would be the skill sheet of someone with severe ADD and a horrible memory. ____

Yep, sounds like the general level of competency of EVE GMs. I love this game but they generally hire the stupidest people for that position.
You're going to have to file a bug report through this website. Then after it is recognized as a bug(probably in a year?) a kind GM will be available to assist you. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure there's more stupid to be found in petitions from players than in replies to petitions from GMs.

It's a shot in the dark, but is there any chance your purchase of the proper skills is still listed in your wallet Transactions?

Also, theres a list of skills you recently trained, if amarr carrier is on it, and you dont have it injected... 1+1=2 :)

I feel for you dude, i too have suffered the ccp skill curse. When the new patch came in december i had my learning points worked out and where i was going to use them. I had the same amount of points in learning as my main char, almost 1 million which was approx 1/4 of my total skills as i trained them first like a good boy :P Well when the patch deployed i found that i was only given 500k sp's instead of the 1 mil or so i petitioned it but got the standard response that the logs were not showing anything different. This really ****ed me off but i sucked it up and took it on the chin even though i know i am right as i have lots of rl friends that play eve and they know this too. Anyhow.... 2 days ago i noticed that i had nearly finished sig analysis level 5 woot i thought. I waited a couple minutes only it kept showing skill completion iminent! it did this for maybe 10 minutes b4 i had enough and re-logged. This did nothing so i logged again.. still the same. I tried re applying the skill tree and setting new skills but still nothing... skill completion iminent! ffs i tried re-logging again to find the next time i was training signature analysis to LEVEL 6 yes thats right level 6!!( i wouldnt mind if i actually got the skill) this was to go on for another 2 hours and 30 minutes but it was late and bed was calling. I made a petition b4 going to bed. Next day i am told yes there was a problem but they made nothing of it and said i lost only 2 hours and 1 minute. Now the 29 minutes of training are not bothering me its the fact that their logs are wrong like b4 when i lost my learning points. Still waiting for another reply but its not looking good for me again . This char is fairly new compared with my main so to lose these points i have already trained for sucks balls. I am not going to let this drop this time as now i know im not the only one with skill problems. I feel for you. and yes i am mad

This and the transactions log are your only hope really.
That you don't even own a ship you 'have trained for' (despite your assertation you never did) means nothing - I can fly tons of expensive stuff, can't afford any of them so don't own them nor have I ever jumped into them.
They can only comment on what their logs are showing, despite how frustrating this will be for you. If they took your 'word' for it, they would then be subject to claims from all sorts of players saying "where's my titan skill, I trained for it, I really did" or some such nonsense.
You surely must have some proof of the fact that you've been in these ships before that you have trained for? Killmails, combat logs, screenshots or as mentioned above transactions and skill history. Don't forget to check your Certificate list as if this says "standard dread pilot" (whatever it might be) this would be proof that you'd already gone down that route previously.
Do the detective work, give them the proof they can't see from their own logs. Give them a reason to believe what you say despite the evidence they have before them.
Good luck. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amusing this is an alt of yours, look through that characters killboard and find kills where it shows you in the ships you now can't fly any more, this should be some proof for the GM's something's wrong.

Don't know if this is at all applicable for you, but I had a quick scare because some of my skills were missing from my queue window's tree, such as Small Hybrid V, Small Projectile V, etc., but I have the Specializations trained to III. Was gonna petition it when I happened to check my skills tree on my character sheet (NOT the skill training queue window), and they were there. So I went to the skill queue window, and there appears to be a new sorting option: Exclude Fully Trained Skills. So your level V skills don't show up if it's the selected option. Switch to "My Skills" and everything that was 'missing' showed back up. Doh.
Doubt that helps you. Hope you got help from the GMs/devs.

Sounds like your character info got overwritten by another person's... As other people have said, I'd go through your screenshots, but instead of just looking for shots of you flying the ships you can't anymore, also look for accidental shots of your character sheets, maybe you can compare the skill points or show that you had skills at one time that you don't have anymore.
One things for certain, I'm going to be taking screen shots of my skill sheets on all of my characters, and I'll be updating them before every patch from now on.
