Heres the thing, you can work as a freelancer but your going to spend 90% of your time getting work and the rest doing the work so you would be luck to have time for eve since freelancers don't get paid anything. I should know because freelancing and hiring freelancers is one of my jobs. You can work as a day trader but as you said its crap. I should know because I do that too and you kinda need a good 5k to get started and if your good you kinda dont need a job after that point giving you have no medical or other problems. You can work as IT but you need degrees and you need to know what your doing.

I highly suggest trying to find a stay at home virtual job. They are really hard to come by right now and you wont move up in the work place but you will save an ass load in gas money and giving you have a good computer and 2 or more monitors you can play eve and work.

Personally I am working on my aerospace degree and I have 9 jobs, (some our outsource). There is a load of people that pay me, well give me a 10% or more cut to find freelance work for them. They do the work, I check it, and we all get paid. I also have a crap vet tech job but once i get my degree I'm looking at virtual jobs that has me coming in once every 2 or 3 times a week or month or so on and the rest of my work is at home.

If your job can be done at home try to tell your boss how you doing your job at your house can save them time and money and remind them they get to keep the money you saved them.

Years ago I could play EVE at work to an extent. I copied region bookmark sets. As exciting as watching paint dry.

You're awesome. Perhaps inject a crash or two to let them know they still need you? And fix them nber quick and use that argument when negotiating raise in salary?

I am self employed and work about 10-16 hours a week (thats about 5 jobs)

So each job pays me between ú200-350 and I can fit in 3 a day :p

So if self employment counts then thats the best job :D, work enough to get by, play games every other hour. I am technically working everyday from 8 till 6 but since I get to chose my own jobs I can pick when I do them :)

So in reality I play at home while I am at work :p

We're not allowed to talk about illegal drugs on the forums. Just so you know.

I can vouch for security being ideal, but the years i did it i read book after book instead, which is probably better in all honesty; I don't read nearly as much now.

They have frequent drills but beyond that, they just sit and wait for an attack. So what better thing to do than play EVE!

 Network admin.

I almost certainly could get away with playing EVE at work for at least 2-3 hours a day. Unfortunately, none of our computers have graphics capabilities beyond the utterly basic on-board chips, so I'd have to run Classic and even then it would be crappy. Someday I will convince the boss that my workstation "needs" to have a powerful graphics card... it's just a matter of inventing the right excuse for it.

As it stands, I browse the forums occasionally, log into EVEGate to check mails and stuff. If I REALLY need to log in for a skill change or something, I can use remote desktop to log into my home machine via VPN and change it there, but the lag between here and there is really bad and it would make any kind of actual gameplay almost impossible.

Thanks for helping me out, and remember helping new players is what EVE online is all about!

Start a blog about a topic you are interested in. In this case, you could literally chronicle your EvE adventures, everyday. You could use your in-game browser to give live status updates. With enough traffic you could sell advertising space.

I know a stay at home mom who blogs everyday about all the funny things her children do. She makes a little over 6,000.00 USD a month. And she only does it for a combined 2 or 3 hours a day.

Get a domain and and set up on a cheap server, see how it goes for a few months.

Vacuum technician at a UHV lab? sit around all day waiting for systems to pump down, especially during a bakeout, just required you to keep an eye on the pressure gauges and thermocouples. pay is low though

Move to Australia and drive a mining truck! Get on a nice 4 on 4 off roster, get paid stupidly absurd amounts of money, then go home for 4 days and play eve 23 hrds a day SOLID.

Turn ur $2,200 AUD ($2400 USD) into plex and monocle up ur chars, buy a titan and lose it. Queue up ur skill plan, go work for another 4 days and repeat!

Best of all, you have 4 days of not being near a computer, so no forum posting!

 Thats my plan
