There is a route i like to take where ocassionaly some suicide gankers at the gate wait in 0.0 i avoided them everytime but i came to think that it would be fun to le them pop against a tanked bestower or sigil.
Due to the iffy Powergrid of the Bestower i thought i might ask you guys wether you have a good fit in store, still undecided wether to shield or armor tank it. |

If they are waiting in 0.0 how do you expect them to die? No gate guns.
As for lowsec, if you running past a gate camp and get caught, I don't see how you could possibly survive long enough for the sentries to kill them, after all a battlecruiser can tank a sentry for a short amount of time quite easily
Overall while it would be pretty funny, it won't work out the way you hope Obmud. |

I've killed haulers on gate with t1 cruisers, let alone a battlecruiser which can kill you, scoop the loot and go for a cigarette break before sentries become a problem.
Terrible idea is terrible. |

In 0.4 really ? I dont have any experience in gate tanking so i'm glad for the input..

You might have more luck with a battle badger or an Itty V. A proper Itty V tank fit will be able to survive any single T1 cruiser attack.

Isn't bait supposed to have a point on?
Unless the guy you're baiting falls asleep in the 30 secs or so it takes to kill you, he/she will just warp off the moment they have an issue with the sentries.

Bestower is pretty useless low sec bait. Use a tanked battle cruiser or maller or something.

Should do the trick as long as your backup is quick to respond. Wait to spring the disruptor on him until you see him starting to disengage. That will kill his warp and momentum until he doubleclicks manually to get out of range. That bit there might buy you the time your gang needs to get secondary points on him before he can get out of your overheated point range. Alternately you can replace the med extender with a web and the long point with a scrambler but thats totally up to your situation if you think you can do without the extra 7000 ehp buffer it gives and your prey is close ranged.

Your target pirate must be incredibly brainless to get popped like that.
1. Any battlecruiser can tank the sentries long enough to eat through whatever tank you have, anything smaller is faster so they will just get away.
2. You need a scram + web may be 2webs to hold your target since haulers are slow already and yours will be dead slow due to armor tank.
Your only option is to wait for a cruiser size pirate to wait at the gate, jump in, approach the gate so he would think you are getting away, thus, would encourage him to get near you for a bump. Then you can scramble and double web him...

Other way is tank up a transport (ie 80k ehp bustard) and light cyno in low sec. Wait beside the cyno in recon alt to catch dumb asses.

That one is not too expensive and it got 127k ehp, with link 170k add implants on that and you get around 220k :)
91% kin resist so your guardians can take a coffee break before they come and help you against that onxy and drake fleet that got you tackle :D

if you're using a hauler for bait, you need a sensor booster. Otherwise you'll be dead before you even lock the guy.

Nah you just make sure your in a spot that makes him mwd to you for a bit. Sig bloom takes care of the rest.

Or just setup at a pos, fit tackle on ship like that and tackle anyone who warps in expecting to insta-pop a cynofrig.
Only gonna catch dumbasses tho.
