Actually this is good point. There are different level incursions for different levels of experience. If you are new to them start off with the basics, then work your way up. Clearing out a lot of the small easy sites is sometimes enough to help the more experienced guys clear out the larger harder sites.
I wonder if this is the intention: Use one big group that uses detachments to (successfully we hope) take down the smaller sites until such progression occurs that the detachments converge to the larger sites as the only way to "squash" the incursion entirely.
WAIT WHAT? PLAYERS USING LOGIC TO FIGURE OUT CCP's VIEW ON INCURSIONS??? This game involves strategy now rather than just going in with an afk boat and auto winning?
Should I ragequit?

As former carebear, and vivid rememories of that time, I can only acknowledge the OP.
It's completely NOT like PVE-ing.
-If you're scared of lowsec or pirats -If you do not know how agression and GCC works -If you do not know how to fly logistics / RR in PVP -If you don't have FRIENDS :
DON'T EVEN BOTHER.
If I remember my empire time, and went with the knowledge I had back then into the incursions, I would have died, horribly, with expensive fits I couldn't afford to lose.

CCP need to review how Concord react to players in these incursions. You cant get 100 people in the same corporation to start attacking at the same time, you get 100 random people in a gang and you have to tread very lightly incase you misclick. Concord should be able to see this and not respond. bring back the old Group dynamics of No hostile action while in a gang in the same system. Even if it just means in Incursion systems.. if thats done believe me more people will contribute and start fighting these incursions. CCP pull your programmers fingers out of their collective anal chutes and do something about this.

My corp survived the incursions with a good group of bs, spider tanked, and a scorp on hand. Some of our individuals did not survive when they tried to join incursion on their own. Some got killed by Sansha and others by Concord.
I don't really care how hard the incursions are; it would be nice to have something like that in high sec. But we're not going into a Concord-summoned fleet (to defend high sec from Sansha) only to have Concord kill us (because some player wants to screw us over for saving the universe from zombies).

So i tried a 10 man group last night. didnt go too well had some problems, but it is all a learning process. I myself am trying to be a better FC, but as with the first post yeah these sites are becoming heavily dependent on what ships you bring.
So here is something i discovered
10 man
- bring 3 logistics, preferably 2 guardians 1 onieros and have something like a phoon or a tempest transferring cap to the guadians, or a support domi doing the same.
