Y'know, It might sound crazy, but I would actually pay to be able to play on the original EVE, before any of the expansions. Minus the bugs ofc.
Do something like PLEX exept they allow you to play the original. 50m ISK for a month long license or something.
It sounds like quite a bit of fun and considering the amout of people that would actually use it (Something like SiSi numbers), it would be rather similar to the original.
I wonder if CCP even has a client saved at that version... Oh, and I might add, this is my signature.

If they haven't changed their versioning system, they probably still have all the builds. I doubt though the old server would run on the current hardware architecture.

Oh, how things have changed.
To prove this point, I jumped a fully armed and operational Armageddon into a lowsec system last night. The campers there, in fact, did not fear me.
I lasted about 1 minute.

Oh, I found a gem! Natural wormholes(2003.07.23 14:56:00) Originally by: Ezri I think that (like the real universe) wormholes should be intoduced to the EVE universe. When someone finds a natural wormhole they would enter at their own risk as their destination would be unclear. Each individual wormhole would just randomly appear anywhere in the universe at a random time, and lead to a random place. The wormholes wouldn't be permanent, perhaps only lasting 3 or 4 days.
Ships that travel through a wormhole would require specialized sheilding and/or a skill to allow them to use one.
Natural wormholes could be used to traverse to distant parts of the universe, un-reachable by current jumpgates. If someone were to travel through one into unknown space, they may have to wait for another to open to lead them back to the EVE universe.
Their would of course we no maps of this space so maps could perhaps automatically be logged as you travel through this space - accurate maps could be sold for a lot of money, though for them to be useful wormholes would have to be open quite a long time.

Current EVE-Search db is around 45GB with all information(and indexes) you can pull, at the time of this post there is around 7.6 billion typed characters, so around 7GB worth of pure "posts".

Thanks Chribba ^.^
7GB of posts? That about what I expected, I was thinking closer to 10GB.
A little bit of crude math, just out of curiosity. This is gonna be very inacurate. Unless we can get a word count off EVE-Search? 7.6 billion characters, divide by average lenghth of a word, lets go with 6 letters.
1.52 billion words.
1.52 billion divided by an average wpm of about 50.
30.5 million minutes. 506666 Hours 21111 Days 703 Months 58 Years.
Thats a collective of 58 Years of time spent typing posts on the EVE forum.
Can we find the total of different characters who have posted on the forums? That way we could get an average accross all users.
If we have 58 years of typing, there has to easily be 100+ years of lurking. Oh, and I might add, this is my signature.

@Xyfu, I have no plan to release my database at this time.
@ChrisDude70, the word count is a rather resource abusive function to run at the moment so I will have to delay that until my new db server is running. As for unique authors - I have tracked 510,932 of them.
