This patch is currently available on the SiSi test server.
I suggest everyone who has complaints about the bookmarking of deadspace changes actually tests the patch. I doubt you will have any complaints regarding loot collection after you have taken the time to experience the changes. Currently people seem to be assuming that specific changes are something they are not.
If you find any bugs during this testing process, please file well written bugreports using the link on the left hand side of this website. ---- Runner BH Lead |

Edited by: Joshua Calvert on 27/01/2005 17:54:00 I wouldn't worry about collecting the loot, Mitchman, most of it was utter crap thanks to some whining.
Although, it must be said, the vast majority of the time bonuses for level 4 missions are not orth sweating over.
I'm glad to see the 350mm II has been fixed but what are the second bonuses for Interceptor skills?
Do they vary from ship to ship and why can't they be listed in Patch Notes?
With regard to mission bookmarks being fixed - does this also includes the problem with accessing the right-click menu (or system menu from the icon nr the system name) which can only be accessed after waiting a minute after undocking or zooming out to the max?
Quote: It is no longer possible to bookmark complex rooms. Complex room bookmarks will be disabled.
Even more reason to avoid DS missions despite the LP fix - getting a CTD at the end level of a DS missions will cause untold hours of travel for BS pilots
Edit: BH Runner, does this mean you will be able to warp back to the preceding accel. gate of the level you were at if you warp out and back to your agents original bm?

Originally by: meowcat No, i still can't get over the Ares changes.
the ares was supposed to get a midslot and 5 grid. (on the original dev post). WHY did this change to CPU and a high slot????
i've never had a problem with CPU on the Ares, in fact i usually have a whole bunch of CPU wasted - because theres only 1 midlsot spare for ECM and not enough grid to fit guns with high CPU req's.
Now it still only has 30 base grid - the extra high slot will be completely blinkin useless.
Nobody puts launchers on a ship with hybrid bonuses.
You do when you want defenders. That extra high slot will bring the Ares 'at least' out of the hangar. I also agree with the mid slot though.. I bought one last night in anticipation of this (Fly my Taranis almost exclusively) and looked at the slots and wondered why anyone would fly one, aside from the fact that is very pretty and shiney.. But, with the leading-missles that hit 100% of the time while on missions, at least I can swap to and spam some defenders out there and keep the scorch marks off my stern. The extra high will make the ares my missiong/ratting/complex setup and the Taranis will stay my PVP ship. Am looking forward to see how it all works out, I love my taranis as is.. and hope I will be loving my ares.. post screenshots |

The time I can put into Eve is very limited these days. I have little desire to go and test patches, although I do recognize and applause the effort of people who do.
However, in my current situation in life, I can only go with what I see in the patch notes. Please, do explain to me and others what the remark about bookmarks in completed deadspace areas not working does mean, if not that I can no longer fly back after I complete the mission.
In all fairness, apologies all around concerning this particular bandage fix regarding deadspace, if the fix does not increase the already painfully estended time needed to complete a mission and gather the loot. The point of my post still stands, regardless. Deadspace is a nice concept that has been ruined by making it a timesink = boring = failure as entertainment.

I tried this on test server today.. I had to warp out from 3rd or 4th room in lvl3 pirate extravaganza since i was out of ammo, and had to go through all gates again after warping back to original bm.

It appears that with the current patch armor hardeners have a new annimation. It looks really cool and it lags the crap out of the client (apparently, but unconfirmed). I have a fairly high end machine. ----------------------------------------------

I know mining crystals are still a thing of the future but as the laser has a veld crystal inbuilt I should work.

So where exactly in the patch notes does it tell you they increased the power grid requirements for tech2 1MN ab's from 10 to 13.

Well, as always, there is somethin i like, something i donŠt like and something i can only laugh about in this patch (added modules? wtf, stop screwing with game balance and focus more on serious matters like cargo bug, market exploits and POS management)
And try to stop using the word "should" in your patch notes that often

WTF?
That and ctrl shift alt f12 does not fix the sound bug, I had sound turned hit esc to change something and the sound came back full blast, its getting annoying. I like some sound, I like hearing the missiles explode but I guess I will have to go into the damn prefs.ini and manually change it.
If I set audio to say 3 will it stay that way even if I hit escape? __________________________________________________

To those with negative feedback about bookmarks and deadspace complexes. This change is being made to shut down players cheating the system, bookmarking a room with a boss rat, chainspawning and raking in the ISK/modules/items long after the mission had been completed, in some cases, *weeks* after the mission had been accomplished.
Being able to bookmark a deadspace room was never intended as a feature.

I agree that the hangar sorting changes are a bit of an annoying waste of time, I hope in the future it can be changed to have a default setting. Most of us are probably used to the positioning for the modules in the sort by type order, as that is what the current default on tq seems to be.

I really can't understand why the best way to stop chaining of a mission is to disble bookmarks in deadspace. What about making the mission spawn only once? I see how that might increase the DB size if the server have to keep track of what part of a mission is killed/finished and not , but it must be weighted against the boredom players have to endure.

It has been fixed Kieron missed it off the patch notes that's all, with a couple of other changes which I wont mention in case he missed them for a purpose.
The modulated strip miner II does not have a built in veld crystal anymore (well it didn't really have one it at all anyway). The description has been changed to match this. ___________________________________________ http://www.eve-tutor.com

The inty changes, including skills are posted in Ships and Modules, and if you read the entire thread, you will even see why the Ares was changed from a mid to a high.

So, what about the thing most people are complaining about - disallowing looting after a deadspace mission has been completed? Is it or is it not possible to bookmark containers in deadspace and warp back to them after the mission has been completed?
The patch notes clearly states that it would not be possibel anymore. However, ISD then stated that we shouldn't worry (and STFU if we haven't tested) and looting will not be a problem. Now you say that bookmarking in deadspace should not have taken place in the first place.
I am confused, again. Help.

Plz respond in simple English CCP.
I too want clarification on bookmarks in deadspace missions.
Will we be able to collect our loot from a dropped canister (by rats) after completing the mission by just warping to this can.

How about you are allowed to bookmark the area for up to 30 mins before the bookmark is removed? this should at least give you the time to go back and fetch a hauler, or dump your cargo at least and do another run?
What you think luv?

I just went through the whole Init-Update thread, and I could not find any post concenring when the first proposition (e.g. +1 mid for Ares) was changed to what is displayed now in the first posting (e.g. +1 hi for Ares).
If I just missed the posting by a dev where they did swap their change-proposition, it would be cool, if you could supply a link.

just a thought why dont you scrapped the random crap loot drops from npc.s and make cans rare but interesting ie on a boss or a genuine item of interest and replace the numerous can drops with random ship wreckage that once dragged to dock can be recycled in to minerals using the scrap metal option as im sick of mining anyway and the option to train and a deep space salvager rather than miner is more apealing to me
if further down the line you was to implement a tug class ship and add larger peices of wreckage or dead ships for that matter to salvage that would make for more of an interesting game imho
ability to salvage a whole ship **drools**
