Isk recieved from misunderstanding?

Worpout	Posted - 2011.02.06 00:44:00 - [1] Can't find another place to post is, so i just do it here. Hello, I just bought this char, from the forums. I bought it nicely, payed the isk and he transferred the char. But now when i get online on the char, i have 4.5b isk my wallet, and a mail saying to transfer the char to another account? I think the guy that send me 4.5b isk misunderstood everything, because i saw the mail log. It isn't worth the headache when CCP comes in swinging the banhammer just because you missed a tiny little thing in the fine print regarding character swap scams. Send it back, and move on.

This new char had 4.5b isk in his wallet at time of transfer or was the isk wired AFTER that business was complete? There was no final agreement of the trade, and i -really- need isk. I havent used any of em yet, so if i MUST send em back, i'll do it. It was payment to buy the character, I don't think CCP would let him keep it and the character anyway. Send the money back and tell him the guy had already sold/transferred the character to you.

And from what I've seen before, CCP doesn't handle grey areas very well. Keep the isk if you really want but don't be surprised if something bad happens.

GM's are most likely going to give you a canned response that can be summed up as "Character Transfer - Isk - Send money back". You'll prolly have to escalate to get a true answer.

But after a couple of days and -many- answars, i decided to give it back. It's just a game, and the other char wanting to buy this char, was a week old, so probatly a guy used he's IRL money to buy isk to get a char ^^

Have to agree. the deal was already done, legit, sealed. Any other isk is fair game after you won the auction. I would of kept it and not posted about it on the forums for a start. If the guy who's isk it was would of asked for the isk back, i would of sent it back. -Hud

Milla Lekarariba	Posted - 2011.02.06 05:13:00 - [23] Yes send back could well be a mistake on the part of the other player as I understand it when you sell a player, you recieve the isk, through the character being sold and then its transfered, and the buyers has to transfer the isk back to the seller after the character swap is made.. I think CCP do this to prevent people from trying to sell characters that do not belong to them or that they do not have access to
