Originally by: Vaerah Vahrokha I was thinking about this: why does Hulkageddon end?
Wouldn't it be bordering on getting CCP to do something about it (an organized attempt to kill as many indy guys as possible) if was a constant condition of carebearing in empire?
I can well imagine the rage quiting going on all over empire == less income for CCP.
Better not provoke them into action.

It's not really fun though. That's why people don't do it. You are giving your ISK and your sec status to be bot hunters, and you aren't getting good or fun fights out of it. The fact you have to incentivize it with prizes means it's really work.
Apart from your feelings on it specifically, EVE needs better player-run events that spur real and fun PvP to keep interest. Something like this, but with t1 frigs in lowsec, or cruisers. Or maybe a galaxy wide "empire vs 0.0 wardec." Make two big alliances and go at it. An event where half the people shoot fish in a barrel and the other half don't participate at all doesn't do much to get people into PvP sustainably.

Those are different kills. Check the times and individual fits/cargohold for each. I.E. a very stupid miner.
In other news, first freighter loss goes to Morganium of the Imperial Order! (Though empty in a 0.4 smells kind of like set-up to me...)

Confirming that all your alts and corporations, your assets, investments, blueprints, orders, transactions, journals, jobs, skills and wallets their locations are now cataloged. Cease and desist all hostile actions immediately or else.

Am guessing you could also put a trial account character as a director onto your corporation and then use his full api to pull corp mails.

Out in wormhole space, Hulkageddon doesn't generally mean much. We enjoy the explosions of every miner we see year-round.
Hulkageddon does, however, take on a new meaning, when you happen to stumble upon a mining carrier. A Thanatos was escorting an operation consisting of a Hulk, Covetor, and Orca in a grav site. To make his time more valuable, the Thanny loaded mining drones.
Being a wolf-rayet, bringing him down with limited neuts available was tough, and the battle dragged out through several triage cycles. This carrier pilot knows his stuff, and we had to employ some excellent teamwork to suppress his fighters and keep our fleet alive. Limited support arrived, in the form of a Scorpion, a Tengu, and 2 Purifiers. When additional pilots logged on and were able to bring in a 2nd Curse and a Pilgrim, we finally toppled the beast.

Big props to Tumoroh for being a great sport and bringing his A-game. That was a great fight, and a wonderful Hulkageddon event for us!

This was in a wormhole? One wonders how they could get all that into a wormhole.. unless they built it there I suppose. I thought wh space didn't count for hulkageddon. |

There are rewards for kills in wormholes and even a 1 billion isk reward for most kills in nullsec.

Ok CCP I am completely baffled by this. Back when you first started we (my old corp out of beta) started espionage and leveled a strong corp. Soon after you put a message out that people doing such things would be banned. Now not only have you allowed that same espionage to take down a well known corp. but you allow someone to create an event that harasses hundreds of paying players whom just want to try and make a little isk to get ahead in the game without any sort of punishment and let alone allow them the soap box of your very own forums?
I strongly recommend you re-think this while you are allowing the (life sucking drab) of eve to continue their piracy you are bashing the greater of the population into leaving the game. I know of several beta testers that have left due to this kind of crap. Yes piracy is fun and part of the game, but contests that draw hundreds to harass others over the course of a month? That's paid time you are losing when others leave for that month. Check your rates I guarantee you have cancels when this person announces their little contest.
I say ban the lot of them and make eve better for people who actually appreciate it for what eve was truly meant to be instead of some outlet for enraged 10 year olds who have no morals and get off on manipulating a couple hundred ignorant fools into doing their dirty work.
Before you start the childish retorts of "QQ and Carebear" I'd like to point out I have never lost a ship to any of you noobs I've been playing Eve since Beta and have not yet had a person from this event win an assault on me. The problem is not that I've been attacked the problem is I LIKE eve and want to see it grow, but with the contests like this which encourage jerks to harass new comers in high sec and the like making new players leave. You are hurting the economy of eve and the player base. I want to see this game last and that is the ONLY reason I even care to make a post. I am already on the defensive and welcoming players in high sec to fleet and podding any person I find assaulting miners for this silly little contest. (No this is not the character I do it on. I want it to be a surprise lol)
I also encourage all miner corps to band together during this time. Set traps for the participants of this little contest and yes POD them ALL. |

Indeed! I personally donated a total of 1 bil in prizes for most mining barge kills in wormhole space.
Would be sad if you guys forgot about it.

That requires effort, let's not forget 99,99% of Hulkageddon participants is either too lazy or too stupid to do stuff like that.
If I were to partake in Hulkageddon I wouldn't bother either...

Wow, this is absolutely ridiculous. I'm looking at the fittings that the Hulks had on the killboard and most of them are just fail fits. Very little buffer, weak shield boosters, cargo expanders, and a cap recharger? I have a Hulk fitted specifically for hi-sec gankers and I use it all the time along with my alt hauler even when Hulkageddon is not running.
