Remove AFK 23/7 cloaking (locking down systems)

NarkoGirl	Posted - 2011.03.04 11:21:00 - [1] +1 for this locked thread. As of now a cyno alt (less than 1.5 M SP) can lock down an entire system, AFK ing all day. Just waiting for an opportunity to hot drop, someone (ratting / Mining etc) The game mechanics should change the way cloaks work by consuming fuel. It's fine that you can have fuel for like a couple of hours in cargo, but being able to sit there afk cloaked for all day with no risks at all, locking down an entire ratting/mining/pos/home base. The capsuleers living in those systems has no way of getting rid of the afk'er due to the mechanics, where probing cloaked ships is not possible. Please sign.

How is this "locking down" the system 23/7? a cloaker has to sleep too. There are other ways to "lock down" the system 23/7.. Should we stop all those too.. Mine with security in low sec and under! sheesh.

I have an AFK Cloaking alt that makes a regular paycheck by helping a local alliance with 'pinning down' a system this way. Might could make it a variation of the DIC/HIC or higher level DIC/HIC that instead of warp interdiction just nullifies cloaking within the radius of its probe/bubble. (If it was Star Trek would be like a tachyon burst). There's no way to keep a cloaker out of your system. You can make it difficult but if he's determined he'll eventually get in. I mean you could make it even bigger, but the idea is sound. The key is that you have to give the cloaker a chance too.
