The Gallenteans. Self-righteous, meddling, pompous and tiresome, or virile liberalists and defenders of the free world. Love them or hate them, you simply can't ignore them.
This description fits the USA perfectly. French are similar, but they are hardly defenders of the free world. Most Europeans like to think themselves as defenders of the free world, I feel, and like to think USA more like Caldari. CCP is an european company, so go figures.

Anyway: SO if the Gallente are french, The Caldari are americans..then what? Amarr must be the old British empire then, right? And the Minmatar could be any of the old british colonies in Asia or Africa.
OR.. It's just a game. :)

The Amarr are American
The Caldari are Asian
The Minmatar are/were slaves...
and the Gallente are French.
When I started the game I planned on playing Gallente, then I found out they were french.

LOL sorry but it was true 2 years ago, when democrats where leading the nation.
USA today defend a strange definition of liberty : leading the World with weapons at hand and controling all its resources is the current american vision of liberty.
You know, this definition of libery is not universal, it is single sided.
I think the Amarr suit better the current USA definition, Imperialism !

Seemed strange cause the last time I cheacked I hadnt named it "Rainbow Warrior".....=p

I find it really funny that everyone hates the French...especially americans. I think the reason why people (esp americans) hate the french is that they do what they want. I mean how dare they defy america?! lol
Americans - deluded, imperialistic, with their own retard, ill-informed view of what freedom and liberty actually are. In many ways, just like the French! Youguys are closer than you like to think...!
Anyway, heres my take (for what its worth)
Gallente - Democrat American/EU
Caldari - Asian
Minmatar - African
Amarr - Republican American

My version of it:
Gallente: The western world almost entirely. Pleasure-seeking, high-quality living capitalists that like swinging around words and terms like 'freedom', 'individualism' and "human rights" without actually caring about these things as far as they themselves are comfortable.
Caldari: Japan. Cool, calculative. Driven by huge corporations and worker-bee ethics.
Amarr: Opressive superpower. Modern China, or cold war era Soviet Union. The deification of their emperor and the religious theme surrounding the empire gives them a nice Frank Herbert'ish flavor though.
Minmatar: Any formerly oppressed colony country with tribalistic values and an inferiority complex (their name even implies that directly if you know how to read Icelandic ;) ) fuelled by centuries of oppression and mistreatment. This could apply to many of third world countries, and may even be a kind of reflection on Iceland and it's past.

Ask an aussie what he thinks of french people, or an average european. You'll find americans are only the most recent people the french ****ed off.

This is the sort of thread that makes me hate everybody... why not? They are not me, after all....
And i also find that some people that role play obnoxious self indulging ass-holes actually are one. So.. they dont really role play, do they?

Ok, let's return to the why it did happen...
USA have a grief against French because french openly expressed an opinion, they are against the War in Iraq -> the first Liberty IS the one of freely expressing an opinion.
I think it's quite amusing that they renamed the french fries in liberty fries, BECAUSE frenchs expressed an opinion against USA will.
What is the definition of Liberty in american dictionary ? Agree with me or shut up ?

Yes, about 40% of the known universe - the Amarrians :P (according to the background... in fact we have more Caldari as their ships appear to be 1337 or summing - I just think they are strikingly ugly to behold).

Im american and Im in the military. I have heard some crud comments about the lack of French support over the war, but in general no one really cares. We won, still winning, and it was a quick and easy war. A lot of people I talk to dont no anyone french and as such havent really formed an opinion.
The gallente being for french origin just seem startaling to me because what the game describes gallentes as seems very very american to me. And the only group to even bring up origin after losing connect with earth for thousands of years seems like them being "french" was in some way signifcant to who they are. ....there most be something about french people I dont know in that case.
