Forgive the rant mode please ... venting off steam here ...
Who came up with the bright idea with the hangars sorting? Default to sort by name? What ever happened to the rule "if it isn't broken don't fix it"? Sorting already was possible and for most of the pilots I know fitting is done from the hangar sorted by type, the only time you use sort by name is if you are looking for one tiny module in a huge hangar filled with thousands of items like the current FCC hangars ..
Ok, maybe I am seeing this all wrong, but this is not something that comes out of "being use to a certain way of doing things". This, at least in my perspective and that of a lot of other pilots spoken to sofar, comes from sense (which may obviously differ for people as we are all individuals).
Thanks to this patch for every fitting I do, and for every filtering of hangar items I have to right click and sort it by type again. If you must keep this new feature, please in the name of common sense by individuality make it a defineable setting in the next patch. I can't ask to just get rid of it, as it might make sense to other people (I wonder though) .. but it is a huge inconvenience. Get rid of it please, or enable a default setting defineable by the pilot to sort (pun intended) it once and for all. :-)

Why oh why another regression. I posted about this bug on FIRST PAGE of stickyfied patch thread in general forums week ago.
Its a small but terribly annoying GUI bug, was it hard to fix it, it's a one line of code.
Now let everyone suffer for a few months until next patch everytime they open station hangar...
CCP, if its possible, could your roll small non-obligatory patch for this one?

Well, the text cursor blinking in odd places in the text input pane of the chat window is what I would call a small bug .. but this is something which goes right into anything remotely resembling usability theory and UI design ... I thought the goal was to facilitate matters, and not complicate matters by means of the click factor.
I presume this has just slipped in. I can understand the aspect of providing different methods to the same target, but not by enforcing it or leaving a user defineable setting option out all together.

Hi,
well... please dont call this complicated ;) changing a default value from one to another should be nothing if it wasnt implemented in a terribly rubbish way which i dont assume ccp did... especially as the requested way is the way it has always been in the past ;)
anyway... i support the addition of a user definable preference in the ESC menu like i already stated in the GUI improvement thread.
The thing is just... there's hardly and official response or feedback to any of the posts so one never knows if it makes its way to the right eyes ;) it might have been a good idea to set up some sticky threads about some (few) of the issues as well, but its still unknown if the right people pay more attention to it than to the informal user posts...
thats why i actually expect another 2 dozen people opening threads about this issue and no one ever knowing if it is going to be fixed anytime soon until a sudden patch does so ;)

PS. And when can we expect the window management to be fixed again? i'd really like to be able to invite people properly to conversations again like in the past before the windows got bugged with shiva...

Yup, though sofar I have to say this forum is pretty quiet, so maybe it will be noted. But yes, lots of people making threads about the same topic doesn't help either those whom the issue concerns nor the people who we're asking to fix it.

Hi,
just noticed.. there's more about this issue...
Seems some ppl at CCP didnt follow their own scheme of giving sort criteria attributes to the new items.
The new mining crystal blueprints are spread all over your other blueprints when you sort by type.
Seems they are sorted by name no matter if you select type or not...
Not quite surprising i must admit... we already had some talking about the lack of a real scheme for certain things.. e.g. naming conventions etc.

If anything as well, when you sort by type, it should sub-sort those types by name automatically. As now the hangar shows all my station containers first (as the sort by type) but its no good anymore as they aren't in any comprehendable order within type whereas they used to be by name within type. |

I'd like to have sort by type back by default as well.
it's been this way since early beta and I haven't heard any reasons to change it :)

I hate this sort by name stuff as well. We should at least have the option to choose default - or save latest.
It's the same problem in corp hangars and in cargoholds.

Adding voices is one thing, and a very much appreciated thing :-) But as one response here already pointed out .. there's no way of knowing whether this is seen and/or acknowledged or not :-( I think the best option is to all file a bug report for this, I know bug reports do not yield response .. but at least those are in a processing queue, unlike the forums which CCP have to browse just like we do.

Or maybe we could get 'Sort by Pyerite content' to become the default setting. It'd be about as useful as 'Sort by Name.'

The sorting is only an inconvenience perhaps, but it gets rather annoying and shouldn't be that hard to fix, both sort-by-type (And retaining that order) as well as sorting by name under type.

I dont mind open the hangar but atleast SAVE what _I_ like! Its annoying to open the hangar every damn time to get sorted by name and resort it by Type, should be easy
fro CCP to atleast have an save for what we like have the
hangar sorted as... cant understand who was the bright
within CCP that came up with this idea..
