Where is the helping spirit?.. Many times I have seen your company raise funds and give to others, including Haiti etc.. the japanese people sure could use a hand here as well.. stuff like toilet paper, food, water, juice.. basic items.. lets pitch in..

You want to shut up mate. This is VIDEO game. And since Japan treats every other country as inferior, why should we help? Your goverment has three weeks warning of a possible quake and you did nothing.
I feel sorry for the countless lives that where lost because of your goverments stupidity.
This is a video game. Your country is rich enuff to cover the cost

As sorry I feel for the people in Japan but ...
this might sound harsh, I am tiered of all this "collection for XYZ" every second day :(. And even more in GAMING forums. We are bombarded with such stuff at all medias (TV/radio/newspaper/people at shopping streats) all day long. Now it is Japan (which is sad for sure), then it's poor people in Afganistan, India, xxx-3 world land, Vulcan here, earthquake there, children who are used as modern slaves, random animal spezies.
Don't get me wrong, it's terrible what happens to Japan and the earthquake+tzunami is nothing anyone could do something against. But the problem with the Atom Reaktors is human made. Japan people wanted this form of energy, now they must life with the consequents. Everbody knew for a long time this energy is NOT save! (Biside the fact, that noone knows where to savly store the Nuklar wast).
I just can't hear it anymore EVERY DAMN DAY! Every damn day somebody asks us to spend money.
I am from Germany. The hole world BELIVE we are super rich. This is WRONG! Do you guys know, that in Germany life around 200.000 children, whos parents don't have enough money to buy food for every day? Do you guys know, that in Germany life around 1 million people on streats as they have no job and can't afford a house? Do you guys know, that in Germany a largh amount of people can't afford to go to a doctor when they are ill?
Sorry, it is terrible what happens to you :(
BUT WE HAVE NO MONEY ANYMORE !!!!!!! To many people asked us to spent our money for them :(.
Ask your super rich bankers from Tokio Banks!

Edited by: Tavin Aikisen on 15/03/2011 03:24:30 With all due respect, Japan is not a poor country. If you want to help, buy stuff from their market and help get that percentage back up. Either way governments should have a surplus/plan in times like this.
Or you can just do it the Australian way and create a levy and tax people (on top of current taxes) whenever a disaster. But let's not get too political.

Japan has specifically stated they'll be fine for capacity and capital.
What they are asking for is expertise, professional rescue teams etc.
They don't need or want your money.

Boz - get your head out from where you have stuck it - it's dark and smelly there... I live in Queensland - we've been smashed with flooding here. There are people here who will gladly take cash donations if you don't want them for Japan. Your attitude is unfathomable. People cannot send the goods you mention - they can put in cash towards a donation. Accept what is given with some good grace...

1. I am a UNITED STATES CITIZEN.. so japan is not my goverment.. 2. You all think red cross just hands money donations over.. not.. they buy the materials.. pay for the plane, ship etc to haul it.. and put the rest in thier pockets for administion fee's etc. giving money is fine.. I'm just asking for people to give.. I dont see anything wrong with that.. I gave for those in AUSSIE land, Haiti and several other places.. at least here i can give a bit more by joining in to physically assist them as well. Thank you for those that did give.. but why do some of you have to be so blatent about sharing or caring for other human beings.. sounds like you just want to put your 2cents in, and say something "SMART".. I was posting little items that the country here was in need of.. they still need assistance in getting supplies to those left homeless, and as for the plants if they would have exploded as some people think, well many of us, and probably the city of TOYKO wouldnt be here now.. what you have seen is hydrogen releases, which can explode but not at the Nuclear bomb exlposion you are talking of.. Again thank you all for the thoughts and whispers..

1) EVER organisation put half the money or much much more in their own pockets, it's bad but it is like it is
2) EVERYBODY askes to give this days And this is the main problem ... TO MANY people ask!
Let the one ask who does it 24/7 on a professional basis. Not a GAMING company, Not a private person.
PS: biside that any request from anyone else EXCEPT this well know professional organisations are most likely REAL LIFE SKAM!

@Boz
You clearly lack the social skills to persuade people to do charity, if anything what you say does more harm then good, i know i personally is less inclined to donate after reading your posts. In this thread no one has shown any interest in supporting your charity, you have only succeed in people forming the opinion that it's in fact is as bad idea to donate.
Next time you decide to help raise charity don't try and persuade people with insults, it's doomed from the start.

Edited by: Jojo Jackson on 15/03/2011 07:32:32 Just to add this:
- I do not talk about a Nuclar bomb like explosion but a worst case core smelt. Has nearly the same effect like a bomb, just without the big shromlike explosion. An area of ~200km around it will be contaminated for HUNDRETS of years!
first explosion: reactor 1, still not under control second explosion: reactor 3, still not under control third explosion: reactor 2 this morning, no closer information now fire in reactor 4, not under control last information from Japan govertment: the area is conterminated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Face it - this IS THE WORST CASE szenario! And it makes clear, how unsecure this technic is.

I cant help much with expertise or as a professional rescue person. But I can help with cash, and thats why I gave 100 dollar to the red cross.
Japan is a rich country but the damage was extensive too. And as I usually try to help when countries have such disasters (I did give by the door to Haiti too!) I do try now to help Japan.
We live in a global community and it is our responsibility - and my pleasure - to help when a global friend needs my (and our) help. And 100 dollar is not much considering what Japan is facing right now with atomic crisis and all!

You should not state facts when you don't know what you are talking about, it's unfounded comments like that that makes it hard for honest charities to raise money. If you don't want to donate it's okay, but don't easy your conscience by saying that charities are mostly scams.
Maybe you should go to Charity Navigator and check the facts, then you would know that lots of charities use less then 5% of their budget on administrative and fundraising expenses.

In general they do more harm than good. Besides, I've already donated to charity. I work and pay taxes and my government has a foreign aid budget.

Dear OP.
Stop trying to kill plex for aid. Japan is the 3rd richest and the worlds best prepared nation on the planet and as such does not need our cash. Plex should be reserverd for for catastrofic events like the 2004 tsunami.

Numerous governments are pitching in with precisely the things you mention needing and air transports are already beginning. The UK and at least 9 other European countries had aid standing by waiting for the Japanese government to give us the go ahead to start shipping it out, and that was within mere hours of it happening.
The Japanese government intially turned down these kind offers until the scope of the incident became clear, at this point they requested international assistance and the aid shipments began. As you say, the Japanese government is probably THE single most well prepared governmental group in the world when dealing with things such as this, the contingency plans laid down are second to none and the countries built in response groups are considered the finest in the world.
While it is a fallacy that Japan is rich and therefore not in need of financial aid, just throwing cash around in this instance will be of no value. Numerous European nations are providing what is REALLY needed in the form of food, materials and the manpower to help get the Japanese back to some sembelance of normality. Comparing the people of Japans predicament to that of the Hatians however is highly insulting to the Hatians. Their country was wrecked and in dire need even before the earthquake which even further devestated the country and its people. They had and still have, no government capable or willing of looking after them. No infrastructure of any kind, no first response groups standing ready to organise rescue teams, in short they were in completely the opposite position to the Japanese. That is why a PLEX drive was organised for them, because it was warranted. It is NOT warranted for the Japanese.
