How hard would it be to find a particular WH system? I'm stuck in one and am wonder how hard would it be to find it from the outside. Could friends possibly scan it down again? Are there multiple C1s, C2s, C3s, etc.? Are they completely random the entrances, the systems they appear in?
Cheers

Depends on how badly stuck you are. If you simply don't have a bookmark to the entrance and it hasn't despawned, yes someone should be able to help you out easily. Otherwise your options are beg in local or self destruct your pod. I think I've also heard of GMs helping out rookies who get stuck, though they aren't supposed to if it's w-space.

Edited by: Plentath on 21/03/2011 02:22:54 If this has happened today, and you're lucky, you have till downtime to either
a) Scan down the wormhole you came in through
b) Get a buddy to scan the wormhole entrance you came in, from the same system.
c) Keep scanning for wormholes till you find another that leads to highsec
d) Self destruct your pod (losing your implants)
Edit : to all your questions as posted, no. You cannot reasonably expect to find any given wormhole by looking for it. Not in a reasonable space of time, anyway.

Essentially I was foolish enough to go in without a core probe scanner, I know, dumb. So I'm just stuck in system with no exit as the previous one closed. Hoping to not have to Pod myself. No one in local for the time being. I was curious if on the outside if someone can probe for a new WH that leads to my particular WH space. The wormhole that closed behind me lead to a high sec system. I assume that WH is no longer in that particular system. It be nice if it popped up in a nearby system.
What happens after downtime?

from what i know downtime has nothing to do with anything WH related if the WH was a his sec system then the new WH could have spawned in any one of the 1212 high systems in the game
you will also never see anyone in local unless they say something first, same goes for you so make sure to post fairly often. But keep in mind that asking for help tells htem that u are there and they might try adn kill you anyway
at this point ur best bet is a new clone

No, there are only 6 wormhole systems, one of each class
But seriously, there are 2499 separate wormhole systems. The chances of anyone finding you again from K-space are astronomically small. If you have no probes and no WH out, try to find a POS in the system using D-scan, identify the corp it belongs to, and send some EvE mails. If they're nice, they'll sell you the way out, and if they're not they'll kill you; not so bad considering that you would have had to do it to yourself anyway if they hadn't come along.

This.
And post the WH name. If you are lucky a scout looks for the WH name on eve-search.com and will send you a mail.

I scanned hisec for worhmoles everyday for a year and most were new wh space. So suicide clone is your only real option unless the inhabitants are kind... ________________ Recruitment Open
