Edited by: Chec Eu on 27/03/2011 11:05:09 Not signed, I personally think it WILL destabilize the null sec scene. Theres only so long that certain alliances will take the crappy lot they've been given and it will lead to conflict maybe even between corporations.
Maybe it'll even make the big alliances ignore the terribad low trusec space meaning that smaller alliances and corps may be able to take a shot.
I think its also a more real approach, whats the point in having every single system the exact same and how would that even happen!?!.... Lil' bit dull...
Great Idea CCP, maybe this will stop blob fests with many more small scale fights instead.
Also, all those threatening to remove the many accounts from the game, we need less people and when you do quite can I haz your stuff?

As was discussed at the 0.0 roundtable at Fanfest make 0.0 money making more viable iterate the sov mechanic (lol ccp and iteration) and makeSilos and moon Meners outside pos shields (small roaming gang target - Dont moan that posses are hard to hit with smaller gangs L2FC)
Nerfing Anoms so we have to resort to blob warfare to take these small regions with good truesec is a terribad idea.

This wont stop blob warfare, we will just all be blobbing smaller targets with more people to take the regions our pilots ned to make ISK.

I guess CCP think there's too much napping and not enough conflict going on.

Agreed but makign us blob over small targets that we NEED isnt the way to fix it. and im calling it now, if we have to go back to fighting over Truesec your gonna see alot bigger and alot more frequently. huge unplayable supercaptial fights (Read - o2o)

So they would increase the amount of reasons to form NAPs (Only way you get not completely worthless space now is being in a huge NAP) in order to combat NAPs? Granted sounds kinda like CCP.

And when you have lots of people in a small area of space farming the sites what happens when party A is running to many sites and party B gets a little annoyed by them taking advantage.
Hopefully they will shoot at each other and cause an internal schism in Alliance C.
People made do without them before dominion, why can't they now? CCP maybe did the wrong thing giving everyone the ability to upgrade their space so that everywhere was the same. Now there's no reason to fight over other peoples space other than perhaps moons or epeen.
I want moar meaningful war/resource wars in my internet space ships
And less NAPfests.

If this change causes the collapse of all of 0.0 and genocide of catgirls, then they only need to adjust the trusec where sanctums/heavens spawn.
More knobs to tweak is good, not bad, for balance.

those amounts of ISK are not entirely coming from ratting, u got Moon Goo mixed in to this and also renting fees that support Supers
I personally am not in any sov related space atm but dont agree with the upcoming changes, so

Kinda funny that ccp says there isn't enough conflict. The sov map.has changed more times in 2010 than in 2009(aka post anoms) and there's currently a region widesupercap graveyard in geminate....huh definitely no conflicts since dominion.

The concept of upgradeable systems via iHubs isn't wrong, I see CCP are sort of getting religion on the 'upper echelons' of level 5 indexes, but reading this, they still miss a key factor, the original *broken* idea of _static_ truesec systems.
One would think, the amount of rats dying and large numbers of people in local should bump up truesec (as players are making it safer for players, less safe for NPCs right?)
Conversely, the lack of players living / ratting in systems / constellations should lower trusec values (rats have less predators).
This *idea* is as old as the 'Predatory-Prey Relationships: The Fox and the Rabbit game'. It is 'player driven' content as well (Hey that stuff sounds cool, oh wait a minute ...).
Its a bit redundant, but I'll say it anyway. Static content isn't player driven. If there were only 5 people playing your game, then it might 'drive' people to want to go invade someone for those resources, but the game is soooo much bigger than that game play style.
The current disease to full out, total hell death mayhem in this game is overpopulation of alliances via political means. You see the 'odd' invasion happen once or twice a year.
That's just not often enough, especially when there is no drive to build an alliance of space holding players to push out the current fat mass, when you can just, I don't know, like .. JOIN them?
Hoppit!
