Also having multiple scars would be really really cool, I wanna have an alt that looks like he's fallen into a mincing machine while on fire.

Wonder why they didn't implement an NPC isk charge for using the station service. Would've been a fairly acceptable isk sink imo.
Say 1mil for clothes changes, 500K for hair color change etc etc etc

Both? I don't mind a sinister look on female characters, but they need to be in one piece lol
hahaha, fair enough. I had a bit of the same reaction. Still have more playing around to do when server is back The before pic has the joker mouth scar on the RHS of her face, but it wasn't really noticeable, wanted something more dramatic but imo the dead eye does look a bit silly. Think I might go for the diagonal scar between the eyes, stretches from the forehead to the cheek, looks pretty brutal and I get my depth perception back Cheers for the advice,
@ CCP much ♥ for allowing us to do this in any station, at any time

There's a brand new shiny button over by the Station Services when you're docked.
Thank you so much! Now I'll have to wait due to DT, but good to know! I guess the habitual logging on and off makes you used to seeing the same thing over and over again...completely missed it. Thanks again!
You should also be offered a re-customization (including sculpting) when you enter the game (to use once, but at your leisure, i.e. you don't have to do it on first login). You may have previously suppressed the message, check ESC menu, Reset Settings, there should be a Recustomize Character in the left section. Note that this is a per-character setting, so you need to be logged in as that character to change it.

Well, as per Dr. EyJog QEN notes, he was rather concerned regarding isk faucets & sink. NPC charging token sums isn't going to break the bank (nor does it automatically mean MT), every bit helps right?

If they had set a 1mil price tag to access the customisation screen I woulda spent at least 20mil during the time the server was up
It'd turn this feature from 'awesome' to 'meh', and people wouldn't really play around with it. I mean after all it is just a static pic that doesn't do anything in-game, I don't care that much about it to spend money on it.
The QEN had a lot of if's and maybes in regards to new isk sink btw, it depends on what happens in the current/coming quarter. Gotta give incursion expansion some time to settle.

I was just going to silently read the thread and wish I were home already so I could check out the new feature, but I absolutely must comment on your new pic, at least the way it is at this particular instance. Inspiring, definitely looking forward to being able to play with the new decorations. Your old one was good, fitting and with character, I'd say, but the new one is just awesome. Brutor lady pirates fiercest pirates tattoos are back, hooray. Would be nice to perhaps see some more diversity added to the sea of ponytail+no shirt+leather jacket spacewomenz and all the similarly uninspired spacedudes.
This character customization is something! Nicely done indeed, CCP.

Awww thanks, srsly feeling the love in this thread. Mebbe it's time to give up my trolling ways?
If you're interested, this is the current one I'd appreciate your opinion, I'm quite undecided as to which of the three versions to settle on.

those figures are stupidly high, but i agree with the idea. in the real world even movie stars have to pay for haircuts and tats, so why shouldnt our characters have to pay. even if the amounts were token amounts like 100 isk per option changed it woudl still be better than nothing ____________________________________________

I don't mind that basic idea, but because it doesn't make sense I must oppose it: 1. It'd be like paying your closet to give you clothing you (probably) already own. 2. Dyeing your hair could never cost that much ISK. Remember, ISK is a currency for interstellar trade and each unit of it is worth many units of any other. _____________________________ [Sebiestor tattoos and Intaki hair: NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.] |

I like the linked one a lot. Something about the fierce badassery of the face art+bright blue eyes makes for a winning combination, IMO. I imagine it would contribute to feeling what I presume getting stuffed in a gym locker feels like should our paths in Ostingele cross for a complete effect there would have to be the nerdy glasses option added, too (and really, why not?)
Sad that scars don't seem to show up well outside the image seen in the character creator and larger scarification-based body modification would also be neat. As would be further variation in hairstyles for men, incidentally. Hopefully, all in good time...

What happens if I answer No on this and check the Don't ask me again box, will I still be able to "save it for later" or will that offer expire?

We've either met before or you looked me up on BC
haha, yeh I love the bright blue eyes on brutor females, it's what my pre-incursion avatar had as well :D
I've ended up going with the last pic I linked, except I changed the spiky lip ring to the standard lip ring, as it looked a bit dodgy imo, contrast was a bit full on and it looked a bulky/unrealistic.
Totally agree on further scarification options, or simply the option to add multiple scars. Would give people the option to have more unique avatars, as I think with the current system you'll see a lot of people sporting identical scarring. I'm hoping that when the server gets around to rendering it that the scar will stand out a bit more.
Incidentally, I'm really impressed with the piercings and tatts available on brutor males, the eye/cheek burn scar also looks awesome under the right lighting.
I'd like to see something where scar tissue affects hair as well, at the moment it gets hidden by beards in particular, having a scar that goes up into the hairline and affects hair growth up there would also look really cool imho, I'm thinking like a burn scar that wraps halfway round the head for instance.

Thumbs up from me too...
Great that they decided "Hey, this is something people are having FUN with !, lets let them have fun anytime they want changing clothes etc !" rather than the sorta past attitude "only one snapshot for you young man...its a tough world and you need to live with your mistakes and we know you would like to change your picture but if thats valuable to you you might be getting an advantage over other players so we can't let you and its a tradition for people to get stuck with pictures they dont' like so we can't just let people start changing them now"
Truly... a major positive step in letting people enjoy their characters.. 70% probably don't care one bit.. 20% only alittle bit.. but maybe 10% have real fun...give the 10% what they want...like a smile it doesn't cost you anything... max once a year paid name changes with a record in corp history should be next ... it will make some people happy and not really hurt anyone... old name would still be searchable etc...

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
In all fairness though, I believe he is actually half-Japanese and half-American. Still funny.
Also, on another note, I would like to see additional piercing and tattoo options, most in the form of tattoos on the arms and back/chest, and just more piercings in general. The ones given covered the fairly basic ones, it seems. Industrials, ear weaves (or whatever they're called), eyebrow studs, and other ones were left out, to my dismay. I'd love to see those in the future.
I still love the ones given, though. Very pleased
