The main problem with the current system is it prevents the ability for continued gameplay when you want to jump to distant (or even not so distant) space to have some PvP fun for a couple hours in a less expensive clone. You cannot jump back when done and resume your normal money-making activities in your body with your pricey stat implants. You end up wasting nearly an entire day for a PvP fling that may have very well been a blue ball voyage of tedium thus adding insult to injury.
Allowing 2 jumps per 48 would allow you every other day to jump out and look for a little pewpew in a body worth risking without having screwed over the next 22ish hours training/farming/grinding. This would potentially increase the number of more casual PvPers in low and null sec which at the very least would be some fun targets for the hungry vets.

This is an incredibly practical solution and focuses perfectly on the fault of jump clones without upsetting the balance of gameplay otherwise. ------------------------------- The fox chases for her meal, but the rabbit runs for her life. |

actually for different reasons, I want to be able to respond to a CTA when I'm bearing it up in highsec since our space is now unprofitable. but if I do find a way to live in 0.0 again it can be just as good for shot trips to empire.

That would be awesome. Even for bunch of other purposes like: I could more often jump into empire and spend some time helping friends that just started playing, or inject some skills. Would make it a lot less hassle to plan whole day ahead. I wouldn't mind even if it was twice per 3 days. Maybe even a skill which reduces the minimum time between jumps or something.

or even better: twice per 24h I don't really understand why this would be imbalanced since everyone has JCs ---- <sig goes here> |

And a +1 from me too.
Kind of silly having to JC & then kill yourself immediately afterwards to return. (Doesn't just apply to PvP as this alludes to; it could have a (positive) high impact on trade/production jumping as well).

-1 from me. Jump clones need a revamp to encourage PvP incursions, but out of all the ideas presented, this idea is weak.
The main problem with this idea is that it doesn't actually solve the issue, but instead only mitigates it slightly while worsening the intant teleportation issue. It also assumes that there is only one lousy possible PvP happening within a still pretty long time period. After that one PvP incursion you are still just as screwed as with the current system and you just made multiple short time period teleportations a possibility. So basicly this idea is situated firmly in the crappy end of ideas that aim to alter the current jump clone system.

Once per week would be better. Actually, removing jump clones entirely would be better. The ability to instant teleport across the galaxy is too powerful. If you choose to deploy to a specific region far from your home base, you should not have the ability to magically reappear back home - or anywhere else - as soon as the strategic situation changes.

The reality is in EVE you have to actually move the resources required to wage war and project your force and it is no small feat. Furthermore, you are restricted in the amount of places that you have jump clones and you have and have to establish these positions. It's not as if you can magically teleport your mass army to wherever you want in order to disrupt the balance of power. I'm guessing the people whining about how jump cloning is somehow overpowered are not actual corporation logistics planners, but neither am I, so if you have some actual examples of how jump cloning is abused or how this would worsen the problem let's hear it.

This change for more frequent clone jumping could be limited to jumps to current station. Basically you could just switch "implant set" on station and do this 2 times during 48h period.
If clone jump was made to anywhere further than current station, it would allow only one jump/24h as now. ------------------------------------------------- Play with the best - die like the rest starwreck.com - support the cause :) |

-10.
Massively imbalanced. The time limit is there to create a penalty for jumping into a clean clone and protecting your implants for a short duration. This proposal is just for risk free pvp without a downside. Also would allow insta-market-survey.
A more refined proposal might make sense
- 2nd jump in 24hrs costs 10m, 3rd costs 100m.
- 2nd jump in 24 hours completely stops learning for another 24 hours.
- 2nd jump in 24 hours carries a 10% risk of breaking each implant on the inbound clone.
some penalty please!

Darth,
Another detractor without actually providing a potential for abuse - except a single location market survey? That's the best you have? That's what you think people are going to abuse? It's called having a Jita alt. Nobody will use it for this.
PvPing would have the identical "risk". You're still in your cheap clone, you're still required to fly a ship. You just don't have to log off bored after it happens and go play another game while waiting for EVE to actually let you do what you want to do again.

The problem with this proposal was stated by EnderCapitalG earlier in this thread even though he used the wrong term.
Force projection is by definition offense, but the concern is that large alliances will be able to use a relatively small force to defend a disproportionately large amount of space instantly because of instant travel techniques such as mentioned in this thread
Imagine youre based in Deklein, you could easily have your 300 man fleet clone jump to participate in a fleet battle in Vale of the Silent then instantly jump again to defend your allies in fountain that same day. when youre done, simply death clone back home.

And the next 48 hours you can't clone jump anywhere. It can be even up to 72 hours, witch is fine. --------------------------------------------------
