Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.
This is the message I keep getting while trying to connect to the Eve online server. On Comcast cable internet. This is slightly ridicules. Please get this problem fixed Thank you in advance hampsters

I imagine you mean "inability" and "ridiculous" and why you think it is CCP given you can connect to the forum AND no one else is complaining ...
give it some time, reset you router, good luck

Typically I would have to agree with you however I am not a noob and have already reset my router and been doing everything under the sun trying to work out this little problem. And as for connecting to the forum I had to type out the full address to get here...... Why I am complaining because there are a whole lot of people having the same problem that I am having and it sucks. But, as I can see that you never have problems with connection or anything may I use your face please......
Also the character pictures are not showing up here either. Indiana here.

Edited by: Zeta Termium on 14/04/2011 02:03:06 Confirmed. Client kept lagging out completely after one moment of responsive play. Quit out, log in again, rinse and repeat. Started 4 gig http download in the background to make sure my internet connection wasn't actually disconnecting, log in to eve only to immediately lag out another couple times. Then I started getting what's in the original post.
Also on comcast, which is a major US cable carrier. All other net activity seems fine, and my 4 gig http download is still uninterrupted.
EDIT: I'm in Miami, Florida.

Edited by: Rens Cheque on 14/04/2011 02:11:22 I cannot connect to the game or forums. I turned on Tor and am able to connect again. So looks like routing problems again. Some of CCP's partners need a serious spanking because I've never had issues like this in my time on the internet.
There would probably be a lot more complaining here if people could access the forums, but I suspect they cannot.

This is an issue one of their providers had in the past? How long did it take them to fix it?

Yes, I'm posting this a lot. We don't really need a dozen threads on the same subject.
Hang on, I don't care. I'm getting sucked into this. My bad, I'm an idiot. Let the threads proliferate, and hang the consequences! Phew, that was a close one.

Well it was not quick. I don't remember exactly, less than a day, but more than a few hours.
It could be a problem with their new routing hardware which suspiciously was installed around the same time these problems started. Or it's a problem with their partners. Seems to be level3 dropping stuff for Europeans and PacketExchange dropping stuff for US folks.

I disagree, I think we need lots of threads and especially threads with better titles than "Client Crashing WTF", since the problem is NOT the client crashing.

File a petition and maybe we will get some kind of response on this. It's a widespread problem.

Nope. I'm sure they already realized it though when 50% of the server population just disappeared. ------------------------------------------------ Please re-size your signature to a maximum of 400 x 120 with the file size not exceeding 24000 bytes.Applebabe |

The patch has nothing to do with the issue, its a routing issue that CCP has no control over at all, if you want a work around find a proxy that doesn't follow your current route and use it to connect to eve. TS3 and TS2 servers for rent, order here |

Use Tor, I cannot even connect to the forum without it. With it, I can post and file petitions.
