Shinra has created a database which is entirely complete as of this date.
It contains ALL the eve items, ItemID,itemname, item icon (res stuff pointer), item level, item group, item race. (gives the ability to render images locally and not downloading, and integration to ingame functions).
Essentially, this has never been done before, and the devs have been in contact with us about it.
A full copy of the Database is for sale (ISK of course). Interested parties contact Tusal. It is basically a corporate or alliance ingame website makers wetdream.
2 copies sold already.

an unedited item db - thats not hard to do, however if it is permitted to distrubute csv copies, that does change things for eve-i as we have never distrubuted the db.
Also the bomber and the like are just placeholders - their stats are useless.
Integration with ig functions? As in user class or actual interface with market and such?

Edited by: Lallante on 08/02/2005 15:39:08 This is complete, there is a LOT of stuff not in Eve-I
For instance, the stats on Boosters definately dont look much like placeholders (stuff like 10x dmg mod for 0 seconds, ie One shot)
Also a huge amount of unreleased Implants with +1 to skills and similar bonus's

So, I can pay for access to a database of things not in the game, or I can use Eve-I for free?

Others have decoded the files before, but as far as I was aware CCP had been rather wary of anyone using the information.
To see a corp allowed to charge isk for it would seem very, very wrong to me.

There is note on that EVE_map_tables.xls you can download from here:
Quote: You can not sell this data or use it in a commercial product. If you want to use it in a commercial product, contact [email protected] for licensing
It's basicly same data, but just a piece of, but I would think that same apply for the data gained from cache files, but if its sold for in game ISK I suppose it's not really "commercial product" then.

So how do you get the data out? Do you have to decompress and examine all of the EVE Files?
ex P-TMC
If you think you can do a better job, go find yourself a datacentre to host a box, get a copy of Visual Studio, and STFU.

everything is on the eve-I db just like the Curse one is the same decompiled stuff file (prob using the same extraction code) just there is a content management interface in front of the db which I admin to display only what is useful or add addtional calculated stats into or hide/group attributes. The items are not missing, they are hidden because they have no relevent ingame use of or are under the 'Soon' category from CCP with no set entry date.
However, anything that helps take the strain from Eve-I db loads we get is a good thing. Just I would like to know what exactly extra you get for your isk over the free versions availible?

What do you mean the devs have been in contact with you? Warning you of the breach in EULA?
If not, I don't think it's very fair for CCP to help people make isk. Why don't they help me too? Or Hakera? Or Bernard Normal? ------------

Umm Lall, DDC has had the ability to look at the items from the resource files for ages....
Anyhow to those that care nothing special in the item database that is usefull, knowing whats in there is kinda pointless since it isnt in game yet...
Anyhow let me fire off an email and if it's ok Ill post a link to a lil thing you can use to get the item list out of the resource files -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Why does this evedbo link that was posted on page 1 look so incredibly similar to a standalone program I have that was made by someone NOT in Shinra and/or is not xCA?
BTW, said program can be used to extract the cache data into a sqlite database that any competent coder, or even PHP webcoder, can parse to make a "database" with little or no work. .

As part of my work on EVEkill, I will be looking to aquire a complete item database (Although the stats etc serve no use to me). However, such a database would have to be made available to ANYONE to use for any non-comerical purpose for free.
I just wish more people would enter into the spirit of open source. ====================================
