Edited by: Julianus Soter on 02/05/2011 17:05:57 The full report, and updated after action reports, are available on Moira's public galnet interface.
Quote: The Star Fraction Declares War Against Moira. From: CONCORD Sent: 2011.04.29 14:53 The Star Fraction has declared war on Moira.. Within 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved.
The Star Fraction, an anarchistic organization that has attempted to fight various government-affiliated organizations over the past six or seven years, has declared war against Moira. Corporation. They have not indicated what the purpose of this wardec is, what the terms of surrender might be, or what their objectives are. However, according to official records, the combat is going quite well for us as of this time.
The first engagement with Star Fraction was with Lord LazyGhost's Hurricane-class battlecruiser, the same day the wardec went active. Curiously, Star Fraction appeared to have no serious strategy in place to attack Moira when the wardec was active, and as such, individual Star Fraction pilots were easy to isolate and destroy piecemeal. The Hurricane was caught off of the Pelille stargate in Ostingele, and being an armor-plated Hurricane variant, was too slow to disengage.
Later that night, a Maelstrom-class battleship was destroyed in Ostingele, also belonging to Star Fraction.
Indeed, what was more interesting during the wardec thus far was the number of successes against other pirate organizations in spite of the Star Fraction wardec. 20 hostile ships were destroyed on Saturday and Sunday combined, only four of which were Star Fraction. Moira. Corporation is investigating offensive operations to deal with Star Fraction's operations in the Placid Region. Their destabilizing activities, while once a minor annoyance to the region's inhabitants, can no longer be tolerated.

Moira. corporation is an existing -10 hostile entity so tagged for previous acts of hostility against Free Space transit in New Eden. As such we reserve the right to use a range of tactics to the discomfiture of our enemies upto and including formal wardecs where appropriate. Thats all the comment I'm prepared to offer at this point.

Silas, you must understand that Star Fraction only makes a big song and dance about their war declarations in two circumstances:
1. They are practically assured of a victory because they're attacking someone who cannot mount a credible defence 2. They have already achieved victory
Much as I dislike Soter, Moira are not to be trifled with, and Star Fraction is meeting with no success against them. This is why, unless they owned shares in Moira, almost no-one knew about the wardec. Star Fraction most certainly haven't won it, and weren't certain they could. Definitely, at least from what I've seen, it's business as usual for Moira. I don't even know what this wardec is about. ----- Andreus Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

Winning wars is a rather comfortable pass-time of ours, so by all means, please continue.
Joking aside, I don't suppose anyone knows what Star Fraction is up to here? Find it rather hypocritical, being friends with the Gallente Militia corporations, and all.

I'd heard of the war, and checking IGS after hearing about it, I thought the rumor had to be quite false. No grand proclamations? No longwinded and largely fictional reports? Surely it had to be just another rumor.
And now this... Have anyone offered Star Fraction medical assistance to ascertain the health of the public relations officers?

I'm not surprised at all.
When the Star Fraction decided it was in their best interest to "help" the Republic they would rountinely point a group of Matari in our direction, abandon them to our mercy and then laugh at their ineptitude.
For all their talk of "Freedom" they are as opportunistic as any other pirate corporation. What they are "up to," is that they are looking for a nice section of space to plant a flag and spout their anarchistic ideologies. Never believe for a second that they have your best interests in mind. You represent Law, they represent the absence of Law. Set your gun sights accordingly.

It is somewhat tempting to start a book on this, I must admit. Perhaps a touch tricky, given debatable measures of 'victory' for either party, but certainly a conflict that could go either way.
Hmm. Not even sure where i'd place my money...

Not if they lose it. It'll be swept quietly under the rug. You think the only wars Star Fraction have are the ones they talk about publicly? I mean, come on, Rodj, you're a dogmatic, lunatic sociopath but you're not naive.

You state the determining factor above: will there be a Star Fraction war diary in the next... month? Two months? What is the expected time frame?

Going to have to agree with this. K/D ratio is equitable, but Moria. loses allot less than SF does. Assuming Moira. dosen't try to win in a full fleet fight, I think they'll be able to harrass/gank SF into declaring a ceasefire. I can't heal stupid

From the looks of your combat record since the beginning of your wardec, it seems like that might be due to faulty station stabilization. You should file a complaint. ___

Fraction Activity Update: Erebus Detected
View the full report on the Moira. Corporate Galnet interface. A brief summary is provided below.
The Star Fraction has executed a large-scale logistical operation, likely with support of an Erebus-class titan located within the Dastryns system. In addition to moving a freighter of military equipment to our base of operations, the Fraction has constructed at least three large-scale military starbases within the Placid region, located in Dastryns, Ostingele, and Pelille.
The purpose of these starbases appears to provide tactical shelter in the case of significant military operations, or cover for command ships for their forces in the area.
Despite these operations, Moira continues to engage and destroy Fraction forces when possible, incurring a minimum of casualties. Additional Moira offensive operations are planned for the near term.

Once, one of your FC's led me around for FOUR HOURS promising that we'd get to kill Star Fraction pilots. I felt very betrayed when we didn't even see anything. I didn't even know what a star fraction was, just that I would get to kill them. It still hurts, right here. I can't heal stupid

Edited by: Cix''El''Syd on 10/05/2011 14:34:09 It seems that this report has fallen by the wayside. As someone that has wagered a very large sum of Isk on the outcome of this war I'd like to know from Mr. Soter if there are any new developments.
I see some discrepancies between the Moira. and Star Fraction reports on ship losses and kills ... well in actuality some HUGE discrepancies between the two parties (with Moira. using two separate locations - that don't even correspond with each other) and The Star Fraction just using their normal, standard reporting location. Is this just because of a lag in reporting, or is there some sort of nefarious and/or covert reason?
Also, out of curiosity, I hear that CVA pilot Dewgong has become involved with the war and is flying in fleets with Moira. in an attempt to aid them in their fight against The Star Fraction. I also have it on very good authority that Dewgong has sworn to not only continue to help Moira., but to bring additional CVA pilots and integrate the CVA and Moira. pilots into one fleet to fight pilots of Star Fraction.
Is this officially sanctioned by CVA? And, how do other corporations and alliances in Placid, that dislike CVA, but support Moira., feel about this new development? What about those pilots that like CVA, but dislike Moira.? (Or any other combination thereof.)
I apologize for all of the questions, but as I said I have a great deal of Isk riding on several wagers on this war.
Updates please.
Regards,
Cix

And one further question for Mr. Soter.
If CVA pilots are flying in your fleets, and will be participating in the war with Star Fraction, will they be included in your loss reports and statistics if they lose ships while in those fleets? This would seem fair and appropriate in my mind, if you do, in fact, use them for support and/or actual combat. Example: Dewgong apparently lost a Pilgrim to Star Fraction in the battle yesterday. Since he was in your fleet will that count as a loss for you?
Thanks for your time answering these questions Mr. Soter.
Regards,
Cix
